It's out since December 1st.
The game itself is nicely done. It's story plays about 2 years before Jake Sully arives on Pandora. There are only little spoilers about the movie.
You can choose between Na'vi and RDA soldier after playing some "Tutorial Missions" where you get introduced to the game and to the things the RDA is doing on Pandora. The story itself does NOT play at the Omaticaya clan but at the Tipani clan, a clan somewhere located near Iknimaya. This clan was one of the first clans that had contact with humans.
As a Na'vi player you have to get their trust, and fight against the RDA. The RDA is trying to find a Sacred Tree which has been forgotten a long time ago. The RDA wants to control Eywa with this tree.
As an RDA soldier the storyline is nearly the same but plays at other locations.
When you choose RDA as your faction you can later choose the Na'vi again to stop the RDA.
A a little "bonus" you have a world domination minigame. Like those from Command and Conquer but without the realtime action :(.
When you played the game through with RDA and Na'vi you get a bonus map where you can just fight a few soldiers.
The overall playtime for each faction is about ~10 hours. So you get about ~20 hours of ingame time +-5 hours to achieve all side quests and world domination.
Sorry for my bad english.
EDIT:
There's also a mutliplayer mode. But I think they did not finish it yet cause you only have about 5 Gamemodes ( CTF / Team Deathmatch / King of the Hill / Team Onslaught ( Destroy / Defend missles at Hell's Gate ) / Capture and Hold ( you have to capture some crystals and hold them untill enemys points are at 0)) at 10 different maps.
It's hard to find full servers but sometimes there are alot players online and it's fun to play![]()

Thanks for the review, I have been looking for a good review of the game. I was hoping it would fall more with the original story in Avatar, but still sounds interesting. I plan on buying it for ps3 tomorrow.
sounds good, i'll be picking the game up next week.
probably picking it up for PC tomorrow. Any other PC Avatar owners? Wonder how the multiplayer is.
You are not in Kansas anymore. You are on Pandora, ladies and gentleman.
i only played the demo the game had alot of potential .From the demo i give it a 7.0 max 7.5
I dunno. Played the demo on PC. Okay, the game has lot of eyecandy places and stuff. But the movement is lame. I mean, I don't want any converted-from-console games on my computer, they don't fit here. Also, having played Crysis I was suprised that the plants are just static, I was hoping they would be affected by the player when one steps through them:(, only the fire and explosions change the plants. So I wouldn't buy it.
Sooner or later though, you always have to wake up

Should I download the Xbox 360 Demo?
I really hate it when they take a console game and just port it to PC, so I was thinking of the 360 version more then anything.
