I think the creation of the subforum would stimulate more discussion. Even attract new members to the boards that otherwise wouldn't have joined. This place is like Avatar central. It would be a shame if we couldn't have costuming discussion here.

There are already costuming discussions here, so you would not have to worry about that. I think keeping them in the Fan Art thread would keep them easily accessible and available to anyone interested in cosplay and costuming, especially if Kaliko's suggestion of renaming the Fan Art/Fiction board to something more inclusive of other forms of Avatar tributes.

I think they should have a dedicated sub-forum under Fan Art/Fiction. Then we make them easily accessible but don't take up much space.

A place in the Fan Art forum would be good for now, but eventually I'd like to see a dedicated forum for this topic. To be honest it kind of annoys me that we have dedicated forums for Sports, Fan Made Games, and Anime here, but no costuming. The Debate forum has very little activity. And The Na'Vi Movement forum could basically be a sticky thread in the Environmentalism Forum.

I am strongly for the idea of a cosplay/costumeing section. If there is enough interest it will grow, and if not it will quietly die. Cosplaying a Na'vi would be an enormous challenge to do it right and a place to help find bodysuits/wigs/contacts ect would be a great help.

As a professional costumer who is already working on the Avatar Na'vi costumes, believe me when I say they may look simple, but they are not if you want to do them correctly. I don't care where you put the threads, but I would like to see somewhere that serious costumers can go to discuss, explain, encourage and help one another.
