early troll response?

I believe the current way of policing the system works the best. It’s sort of like a neighborhood watch in an online community. The obvious trolling often gets immediate attention anyways. There was “trolling” in a thread I was posting in recently… I didn’t even have the chance to report it because one minute after it began all trolling posts were removed and the thread continued on as if nothing ever happened. I’ve been here for nearly a year and I’m still surprised at the quick response time. A flagging system sounds like a great idea, but it would eventually lead to problems because of overuse. I’ve had my comments on YouTube hidden or removed because enough people disagreed with something I said. I didn’t say anything off color or anything it was just removed because people disagreed with what I said. If that were to happen here it would create a new battle between the real trolls and those who would abuse the flagging system. The trolls themselves could come in and flag posts by regular members and cause further disruption by ultimately rendering the flagging system useless.

The current system is fantastic and the few extra clicks that it would take to flag something that’s obvious trolling is no bother at all.

spammers are getting smarter, now they are putting links to watching moviues online in their sig BUT they aren't showing them in their posts so you can only see these when you go to their profile....how do we report something like this? all spammers shall be eradicated >:D

Ah, well that's what the report post function is for. Its the same thing

Just takes a couple extra clicks =P

On a related note, can the following icons: "report post", "blog this post", "reply", "reply with quote" and the "multiquote" be made easier to see, it looks like there is a stray bit of grey background styling with each of them as when you hover over them they a easily seen then. Maybe copy the :hover styling for them to the styling for the normal state.
