AF no longer loading on stock Android browser

For some reason I am no longer able to get the AF website to load on the stock browser built into my droid phone. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have tried clearing cache, cookies, and all other website data, and restarting my phone with no luck. All I get when I go to this site now is a grey screen with a giant banner ad in the middle. I was going to poll others before trying more drastic things like restoring my phone to factory defaults... though I did most of my lurking on my phone, so I may just do it.


Are there any alternatives to the built-in browser for smart phones? Does anyone else browse AF on their phone? If so, what do you use?

It might just be the scripting that loads the ads playing up

ofcourse there are enough alternatives. try the "dolphin browser" I like it. if it still doesn't want to work you can always try tapatalk. it is an forum app where you can read and answer post really easy.

Well, I installed Dolphin today. I like it, it is actually a better browser, so it is my new default

However... I still get the same result. Gray screen with a big ad in the middle. My phone isn't the most awesome of smart phones, but it did work at some point. Maybe something got messed up on the phone. I will probably end up restoring the phone to default completely (restoring browser alone didn't work). If all else fails, I'll just continue to come on here on my PC when I get the chance.

I use tapatalk sometimes as well, it makes it easy to see the replies to you, or I just surf it on safari to do pm's or reply to visitor messages.

after troubleshooting more, I managed to be able to view the site again in the mobile skin by disabling java script through dolphin.

don't know if you ever want to use tapatalk. but get app planet. search a QR scanner in the appmarket. and go to this site: Applanet and scan the code. so you can get tapatalk for free (including allot other apps)

Many members use Tapatalk to access the forum, and I just updated it to the latest version.

Smart phones that utilize their built in browser may also access the mobile forum skin.

I am actually duplicated the issue on my desktop too, this time on IE. I accidentally selected the "Mobile Phone Style" skin in IE and I get the same in my desktop internet explorer. There are some script errors I'll paste below.

I couldn't reset it and I tried deleting cookies and temporary files. I had to disable all java in order to load the site. Then reset the style to AF Style, before I could re-enable Java and see this site again in IE.
