    You act like no other corporation in any movie is like this;

    OCP (robocop)
    Weyland-yutani (aliens)
    Cyberdyne system (terminator)
    Umbrella Corp (Resident Evil)

The list could go on for pages.

The corporation itself is almost a character. The equipment and general feel of it. I feel that RDA is surprisingly MORE humane than cyberdyne and the others above.

After all, if you were given the chance, would you agree to the above terms to go to Pandora? They're footing the bill.

    I would.

I can honestly say that, yes - i would.

Regardless if i'd know anything about Pandora in the first place. It just seems that it'd be vastly better then staying behind and rotting on Earth.

    Not to mention the benefits.

    * And yes, i do agree with the RDA being more on the humane side of things - Seeing how they're not aiming for world domination *

The good thing about the RDA as a military unit is that they appeared the real deal. In the battle, they actually did some real damage and showed they were very effective. They weren't just there as fodder for the hero to wade through.

It's good, and "realistic". Seeing that without Eywa's little intervention - They would've won.

If not for the flux vortex the battle would've been over in a few minutes I would assume.

If not for the Flux Vortex, the RDA would have been able to field even more advanced technology. So yeah.

    Good for the Na'vi.

RDA, Century 22's answer to the Dutch East India Company.

Their goals -- typical corporate avarice -- fade in importance to the adventures made possible by the tremendous assets and infrastructure they've deployed.

I love their Silicon Valley "homebrew" origins, unique among fictitious megagloms. Except, of course, Cyber Dynamics.

Plus, if you look at all the people working for RDA, i would be willing to be that the MAJORITY were not military in nature. Workers, scientists, support staff, though the military do feature prominently in that everything outside of hell's gate requires military escort.

I always wondered what the first settlers on Pandora were like. Imagine that story of survival.

The video downlink plays "live" at Times Square:

A suited astronaut readies the flag for planting. "A world of indescribable -- " WRRROWWWWWWRRRRR --- zchs --

    Static.

The pre-Hell's Gate situation is a fascinating one. Perhaps light will be shed on the story in Part II.

I imagine RDA's core employees are through-and-through "two weeks to get an answer out-of-yuh" civilian types. The disproportionate military shield is simply the product of Pandora's tireless, merciless, "eco-immunological" fury.

I thought the Na'vi received the first humans in a very friendly manner but over time became hostile when it was clear of the RDA's intentions.
