In seriousness: ecosystems are built on a foundation of balance. No inhabitable space is designed for the needs of one to outweigh the many. That's something that humanity does not keep in mind. If an Eco-unfriendly mindset results in the collapse of society in centuries to come, it won't be the planet that has killed us.

exactly the humans have superior technology with no restrictions on them whatsoever and if the unobtanium is as profitable as they make it out to be in the movie im sure RDA is going to come back and use everything possible to get back to mining.

Well, they can take whatever decision they want to take (becuase the UN granted all the rights to RDA in Alpha Centauri system), except the use of nuclear weapons, the UN restricted their use to RDA. Of course it's possible that with all that power, the RDA is capable to secretly use nuclear weapons.

Well im pretty sure the U.N only has jurisdiction on earth and besides corporations don't HAVE to listen to the U.N anyway. PMC's have been banned but their are still PMC's working for the united states and other security council nations.

and aside from reality i don't remember the U.N ever referred to in the movie
