I love rediculous things for the mere fact that they are rediculous. I loved that song too.

Scientists once aimed the great Hubble Telescope at the black featureless silent void between the stars. As they peered into that black abyss, they were blinded by the light of a billion stars shining from a trillion galaxies. This universe is not empty, but bursts with worlds as yet unseen and unknown.

And I don't get why we should have a thread about positive aspects of humanity on this forum, of all forums. There are films for people who thinks good of humanity... why don't the people who like humanity go hang on fansites for those films instead?
I appreciated Avatar very much for its criticism of what humanity is currently doing. It's refreshing to talk to people who agree with me upon this.
We are highly intelligent tool users that live in a world of our own creation. Man dominated the animals of the African outback using the simplest of tools: Basic logic, understanding of cause and effect, fire, communication, and the flint axe. 50,000 years later, we use millions of tools.
We have proved that a rational mind conquers all. We are able to observe the natural world, document it's laws, and use them to predict outcomes. And prediction = control of your life.
Where has this taken us? We have jumped free of evolution. The cycle of natural selection that binds all other life has been rendered insignificant. Even something as simple as glasses allow humans to function perfectly whereas a wild animal would starve and die. We are no longer subject to our environment, altering it as we please. We are taking our DNA apart piece by piece. We have seen hundreds of thousands of light-years into the universe. We are building intelligent computers. I have no doubt that in the future humans will develop technology that dwarfs ours today, even immortality and the ability to go anywhere in an instant at the speed of your thoughts.
Earth is a planet of powerful, dangerous animals. But it is Homo Sapiens, with his hands and brain, who rules.

we are awesome? i guess we are, we've acomplished alot over the years. But there are so many things we can't do like fly, photosynthesize, survive radiation or extreme heat and many other awesome things. it would be awesome if we could do all these things :D or maybe just be blue and 10ft XD
There are many dangers on Pandora, and one of the subtlest is that you may come to love it too much.
