    Default Human Pride?

Hello everyone. I have only recently seen avatar on DVD (have watched it 4 times since a couple nights ago) and I really enjoy the film. Now what I want to ask is does anyone else feel a sense of pride when the RDA are amassing for their attacks? I love the Colonel in this film, he is by far the best character in my eyes and when the RDA are blowing the hell out of Hometree I can't help but think "yes, take that you blue hippies, no one screws with the human race".

Now I don't totally despise the Navi but when you find yourself rooting for the "villan" in a film and actually believe him to be the hero, the film maker is clearly doing something wrong?

I think the filmmaker is CLEARLY doing something right! You're rooting for the humans because you ARE human. Now, you just need to shift that pride into a pride for all humanity, because throughout history we have been treating our own brothers and sisters like they were savage cretins.
I didnt sign up for this sh*t.

Oh look, a troll. And a bad troll. I mean, a ****ing terrible one. Tbh, I'm not even sure why I'm responding. Go back to /b/, the cesspit its become. You new guys ****ed the internet over, trying to come in and force your way into our inner circles, only to flop around trying desperately to imitate us, slowly driving us deeper into solitude and hermitages. I remember the glory days of the internet, where a real troll could destroy whole forums with their rhetoric. You've managed to get... one bite. In four hours. And it wasn't even filled with rage. That's not just sad, that's damned sad. Unplug your internet, and go watch Fox news until you can learn to troll for real. You're not even worth the mod's time to ban imo.

Anytime I see the phrase "blue hippies" I just stop reading, because I've read all I have to.

There are many dangers on Pandora, and one of the subtlest is that you may come to love it too much.

You sound like one of those people who enjoys the movie but doesn't get it.

Either way, welcome to the forum.

Aihwa I honestly don't know what you are talking about because I don't spend my days on forum boards. You seem a bit upset yourself, im sorry to see that.

Also I get the point in the movie but if it came to deciding between my own race and a race of aliens, well, move out the way of Earth

Oh yes of course I have an awesome sense of pride for what Quatrich and the RDA. They are obviously the best, even though what they do is pretty much genocide!!!! With an opening post like that, you ain't gonna get a positive response from anyone round here.
