    Mayhaps not, the RDA or SECFORS may be more interested in finding out about why and how someone could just "infiltrate" and become Na'vi. Or maybe it's better to understand Pandora and why it reacted by talking to the people who would know it best: The Na'vi.

    It's becoming kinda clear to me that the RDA isn't quite finished with Pandora yet.

    somehow,i just can't see the evil rda hydra sitting down and having a townhall meeting with the People of the Omaticaya Clan. they'd rather scorch the ground and murder the natives,then bring out the unobtanium by whatever means necessary and savagely destroying the beautiful forest and Floating Mountains as payback.

    Pretty much this. As was being discuessed in the "Nuke em from orbit" thread before it got WAY off topic and was locked, if the RDA wanted the unobtainium at any cost then the most cost-effective way for them to do it would be to level a few forests with hydrogen bombs.

    You have a good point there, but I'm going to err on the thought that the RDA may want to know their enemy more. To know your enemy is to better understand them... But then again we are talking about a bunch of folks who didn't give a flying nut about "sacred trees", so they're probably just a bunch of idiots who wouldn't - no, COULN'T understand the neural processes of a giant mother-planet with a sophisicated intelilect.

    But I wouldn't call it pass them to send off some Marines out into the woods.

    It does make you wonder... do the humans consider the Avatar progam failed, even dangerous, so they stop using the technology altogether, and just use their conventional force to try and take over(look what one person did when he become on of the people). Or is there a breakthrough in the Avatar tech(tech never stands still, what is hard to do today is not so hard to do tomorrow) and it becomes easier for RDA to make them and they try and come out with an "Avatar force" ( I think the original intent of the tech. was to have an Avatar mining force with Avatar miners, but it was to hard to do and cost prohibative). There is so many possiblities for the sequels it makes my head spin. A would like the second move though to focus more on Pandora, Jake, Neytiri and the people who stayed behind lives on the moon, with the looming conflict bulding up for the third move. IMHO.

    Wow, am I glad I found this forum!! My wife and I have watched Avatar soooo many times, were (like most here) hung so much on the story and can't wait for the sequel. We have spent many hours analyzing the characters and our list for the storyline for Avatar 2 is small but growing. We saw on IMDB that Sigourney Weaver is in listed in the cast for Avatar 2. My wife and I have a little side bet on the role she will play. She thinks that Grace will speak through Eywa in some kind of spirit form. I wish for her to be reincarnated some how! Our other thought for who may play into the storyline is.... TRUDY!! We have watched her chopper blow up so many times trying see if there was anyway she could have survived... It just doesn't seem possible :( We just hope that the Storyline at the very least recognizes the sacrifice she made for the for the Na'vi. I read through all the speculation in this thread and it all sounds exciting!! Since a good portion is going to take place under water it does make you wonder if there going to try destruction of the Na'vi from some kind of under water facility.
    Great to be here and I can't wait to get more involved with the community!!

    I almost agree with a previous poster about this thought being a FanFic, but I want to play… I would believe that the RDA would not see the Avatar program as a failed one due to the setbacks on Pandora. Quaritch and other surviving members of the staff would see that a corporal of the Recon Marines driving an Avatar was a very lethal combination and the military aspects of this program would trump any further scientific uses. Quaritche’s statement reflects a train of thought that either was started with Jake or would evolve in future plans.

    If in the sequels the RDA does come back, HufweMakto’s idea of highly trained military specialists driving Avatars would be a viable option (expensive, but viable). Nuking from orbit would not make a good sequel, but that’s just me. We would likely see a group of “heroes” in the vision of Predator, Aliens and Rambo 4; typical Hollywood individuals with specialized skills led by a stud boss, I’m picturing a meaner Dwayne Johnson although JC would likely pick a beefed up Michael Biehn. In a FanFic I read some time back, Michael could be related to Quaritch. There will be a fatal flaw; Jake had good pedigree, the ”specialists” will not be of the same mold.

    I would disagree that they would become infiltration units. Most likely they would be path finders; they will be an "in and out" team to cause disruption among the Na’vi but not enough to bring the whole planet down on them. They would go in after Jake. But that task will be complicated and there will be enough drama to keep us glued to the theater seat. The complication could be that the Avatar drivers begin to grow; some to love Pandora, others thinking about being kings. Jake will lead them on a merry chase as he goes on a journey to learn more of Pandora. But in the end, Michael or Dwayne will fall to Jake in a climactic scene with Jake saving Neytiri this time. I will have a Kleenex ready for that scene!

    @luvz_avatar, welcome to AF!
