    Default No air resistance

I am watching Avatar again on blue-ray and just noticed something wired in the scenes.
NO Air resistance! The physics is great but I think they forgot air resistance.

He is shooting a big gun and the leaves next to it does not seem to move by the shock-waves.

Yes I know it is not real, but is an interesting observation.

I seen alot of movement from the trees from wing movement and the clouds swirl from the engines.

I didn't notice a problem with the physics. A bullet is rather small and would not have much effect on th surroundings. However, larger things such as the Samson or Toruk do produce large amounts of thrust which can clearly be seen moving the foliage.

I was referring when he meets the big cat and then has to jump into the river.
All objects that are flying in the air are caused by direct collisions.
Also the foliage itself, there seems no wind on that chase scene.

I am not complaining, just analysing the details how they did it.
It is fantastically detailed what they did.

Obvious big objects like the Turok does indeed produce thrust seen in the foilage.

I don't know how much wind there would be that deep in the jungle though. I'm guessing not that much. I'll have to watch that scene again and look for myself.

The only flaw I thought it had was that it didn't last long enough :P

I was just observing, no criticism. Reverse engineering the 3D animation.
But it would have been much longer. I can't get enough of it.
