Have you Really seen Avatar?

I saw Avatar after a view ;-) viewings in standard cinemas today in IMAX for the first time and was wondering about the format of the screen: The additional content on top and bottom is BIG! It's amazing.

I hope the DVD and Blue Ray version will include the full 16:9 format!

So I searched a bit in the net and found this thread.

The difference between Imax and "standard" you can see also watching the trailers on Apple's Quicktime trailer website:
The FEATURETTE is 16:9 as shown in Imax and the TRAILER is the cutted version shown in all other cinemas.

Yeah, I would have to say I have "seen it": twice in 2D, once in IMAX and 15 times (yes, FIFTEEN) in "Real 3D".

Has anyone here seen it at an IMAX that projects on the ceiling or something. I saw one in Charlotte, NC. I think it is called an Omnimax IMAX and is especially humongous.

Only if you watched it in an IMAX theater.

Yup seen in 3D and gosh it was an experience <3 I never told this story here don't know why ^_^ Basically, the second time I saw Avatar at the cinema in 3D, was the real amazing time, when Pad arrived... Because the first time I was with my crazy friends and I didn't even know what it was either, but the second time, I really wanted to see it again seriously, and let it sink in me, and I went with my parents too, and i remember, that winter day in January, we we're in the queue, and I could see the number of seats available on the screen going down and down so quickly! :O:O:O Would you believe, me my mom and dad got the LAST 3 seats available in that Huge room for the show :D:D Yes, they we're the Worse ofcourse! xD But it didn't matter, I was SO excited They we're front row, all to the left, the first three xD I watched the whole beauty of it with my head up pointing right a bit, got a stiff neck the next day, it was the sweetest stiff neck ever though to see Neyney so big, so real, so Neyney ^_^ Gosh it was so fabulous... I kept the ticket and the glasses from that special day, when Pad started <3 Unforgettable
