it is completely ridiculous that it is not considered acting.
the actors themselves have to create believable performances, wearing heaving equipment, full body suits in a huge white room. they have to draw inspiration from themselves, not from the environment around them like most actors can.
if i was them, i would not be able to concentrate for laughter with those huge skullcaps and motion capture cameras they have to wear...
and zoe, in particular, with all the leaping and jumping, and the voice she has to use, deserves an oscar.

Now, what about performance capture? You have a voice, a face, and computer drawing. How much of that is acting? How much of that is animation?
I believe it is a 100% acting plus the extra effort for drawing, performance capture and other digitizing work !
The discrimination which was made to Avatar in a close future will stop and this movie-making technique will be fully appreciated.

Hey guys. I just wanted to ask, does anyone know where I can find some performance capture footage, but without the famous scene "I trusted you"?
This is the only one on YouTube I think. Do you think it will be on DVD release? Can't wait to have it!
    Thanks.

I remember reading they used prosthetic legs, and his real legs were "tucked" into the wheelchair somewhere. Magic wheelchair, maybe?

They're prosthetic? They looked damn realistic to me. I always thought it must be some real parapliegic guy's legs... ah well!

Close. They're prosthetic legs cast from a real paraplegic.
