Are you saying you don't see why HE would lock her away for disobeying HIS orders? Or you just don't think it's right?

Are you saying you don't see why HE would lock her away for disobeying HIS orders? Or you just don't think it's right?
can you explain that a little bit better? I'm not sure if I understand you 100% now. sorry
but what I can say now. do you think Quaritch cares about trudy when he is planning to attack the tree of souls.

I'm saying wouldn't Wainfleet think that Trudy is a traider for not shooting at hometree, and don't you think he would report the traider to Quaritch?
Well during the actual attack, I doubt he even noticed Trudy turning back. Mechanical problems can easily strike when you have that many units involved, so it would not have been anything out of the ordinary for a unit to fall back. During the final attack when things were falling apart, units started falling back despite the last standing orders being "engage all hostiles".
I agree with others that Wainfleet probably reported back to Quaritch about what happened. What I think separated her from the others in terms of punishment was that she was a long standing member of the RDA. Quaritch had contempt for the "science pukes" from day 1, so he didn't hesitate to throw them in the brig once he had an excuse. Jake attacking the dozer, Norm punching the RDA soldier, and Grace probably getting in their face. I doubt he was joking when he said he could go for shooting grace.
As for throwing Jake in the brig... Quaritch saw that along the lines of treason. He is not going to put up with that kind of betrayal, and I am surprised he didn't jail Jake immediately. (Well he did punch him out). While Trudy did disobey orders by not engaging in the attack, I doubt he saw that as a betrayal. I bet he wasn't happy, but since Trudy was one of his own, I think he wasn't so quick to throw her in the brig (again, he didn't even throw Jake in the brig immediately).
I doubht if Quaritch cared about her. like Itan said. it could be a mechanical problem. beside that. he was busy with shooting the hometree so I doubt if he really cared about trudy. as long as she didn't ruined the mission it wasn't quaritch problem. and maybe quaritch was angry on trudy. but we didn't saw it. but I think trudy wasn't scared for quaritch. so that is why whe don't see it in the movie![]()
