    Default The love affair.

    One simple question:

Why do you think people found the interspecies love affair between Jake and Neytiri disgusting and offensive? Neytiri was specifically designed to make her as human as possible to prevent that. I read on Navi-blue.com that a lot of people are basically revolted by the whole idea.

Is it really that wrong for a human and alien to fall in love and "do it?" Thoughts.

No, true love has no boundaries, no limits, true love is the unity of two Hearts as one, not as a body and a body.. If people would just understand that, they wouldn't be revolted.

Love is not a linear thing.

Haha that's why we rock over here. We understand love isn't skin deep, or in this case species deep either.

My personal thoughts on it? There are a lot of human-centric folks around, who have moral beliefs that say humans are on another level entirely from any other species. That we would "dirty" ourselves if we laid with anything even remotely nonhuman. I just can't believe those sorts of things, myself.

The point of the scene is to show how Jake and Neytiri's love has reached a level where it transcends physical boundaries. Their appearances no longer matter; it's what's on the inside that counts. Quite simply, Jake and Neytiri See each other, they don't just see each other.

How such a beautiful and powerful message can be considered 'disgusting' is beyond me.
