i really hope he is, he deserves a new life toobut now that i think about it, if he went out on foot to search for the enemy then they couldn't have been too far away so the enemies actually got pretty close O_o i still wish that we got to see a bit of Norm fighting in his angry human form.

Interesting thread, and a lot of cool responses ^_^ i realized i hadn't ever taken much notice of this either, what exactly was Norm aiming to... I think, that he just wanted to keep fighting in human form too, as Scott says, he's commited, he knows his friends are dying (especially he knows Trudy has died) and i'm sure he just went out, with nothing left to lose, to fight for honor, like a manand also, its probably to 'get him out the way' like the thread says, for dramatic "needs"

Its probably good for Norm he never made it back to fighting, I have no doubt the RDA would have shot him like they did his Avatar. Norm is a character I really disliked at first, same with Tsu'Tey, the more times I watched the movie the more I respected and started to like both characters though, especially Tsu'Tey.

The RDA were a little preoccupied by that time…like running! I would be less concerned with the RDA SecOp guys and more worried of the roaming Navi and animals who might think he is just another alien. There was a lot going on in the field of battle, things could get pretty interesting. Fog-O-War.

Norm's character evolved during the movie, he started out as a bit of a geeky science nerd. When Jake was confronting the hammerhead titanathore unit on the first field trip the expression on Norm's face was almost rabbit like... I think a combination of the circumstances he found himself in & being around Jake influenced him to "nad up". Personaly I think he succeded, by the time he leaves the shack & heads back out into the jungle to get back into the fight he is looking downright fierce...
