    Default Volcanoes on Pandora

Are these the same as on Earth or does the moon being smaller than Earth make the volcanoes shape differently as for example seen on Mars? One volcano looks like it would fit on Pandora. Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines. Here is a photo of it. http://eos.higp.hawaii.edu/education...t1/slide01.gif

If I remember right, there was a scene in the original scriptment that displayed a scene in which the Samson was forced to landed in a volcanically active area. And I've heard rumors that Avatar 2 was going to contain more volcanos, whatever that means.

I almost think a really cool and unique looking volcano to induce into the Pandoran universe would be like Ol Doinyo Lengai in Africa, perhaps one of the most unusual volcanos I've ever seen:

Only volcano that produces natrocarbonanite lava in my knowledge.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

i would love to see an active volcano on Pandora, especially in 3D. volcano lava flow forms land,so it is a natural part of the cycle of life. oceans, volcanoes, other moons or planets of Alpha Centauri....the sequels are sounding even better. c'mon 2014!!!

My guess is they would also have very explosive volcanoes. Pinatubo, as seen in the pic I posted is very much that type. The 1991 eruption blew off the entire top of the moutain, causing the rest to collapse into giant caldera. That blast is identical to the size of the Krakatoa 1883 eruption.

Speaking of volcanos blowing their tops off, ever heard about Mount Mazama?

Yep, now renamed Crater Lake. Pinatubo has one as well, but it's acidic.

Uh, no it was shot around Mount St. Helens. The close ups of the crater at the summit is really that of Mount St. Helens.

Plus the robot featured in the movie is based off of an actual robot called Dante, which interestingly enough was a lot more successful than the robot they showed in the film.
