    Default Recreating Pandora at Home?

Hey there, I was just on this thread where Da'ath came up with the awesome idea of creating plants that look "Pandoran" with glow in the dark paint (click on it, they're cool pics ). While I was watching Avatar, I think the thing that stuck with me visually the most were the lush glowing world and the rich, vibrant colors. It just blew my mind. Seriously, I think a part of my brain exploded! I hate to use a phrase used in a thread title, but Pandora at night was, indeed, devastatingly beautiful!

I've been fascinated by this kind of undersea look every since my mom tacked blue green streamers and fish cut outs on string to the ceiling for my The Little Mermaid-themed birthday party (XD) and seeing Pandora just inspired me to do something about it! I love the idea of creating an avant-garde interior, something not so square and mass-produced, something natural-looking, unique, and creative to enhance the space and give it the feeling of stepping into another world (I took interior design for a while but they're all about bare, straight lines and colorless walls right now ).

Anyway, the point of this thread is if you were to try to recreate Pandora in your home or just give a room an "Avatar" feel, what kinds of things would you use? Like I said in Da'ath's thread, the Tree of Voices and the Tree of Souls reminded me of rope lighting XD. It may be kind of silly, but hey, if you really had to have that "look" you could hang some from the wall, lol. Any thoughts?

I'm doing it Got a hammock (thanks to this thread: http://www.avatar-forums.com/general...like-navi.html ). I'll also get some fitting plants and small palm trees and such, and transparent draperies, if I find any with suitable pattern.

glow-in-the-dark paint is a great idea. Rope lights are nice, but I'd rather go for something like these:

It would be a wonderful idea, if someone perhaps even created plants that could grow, i would stuff my room full of them.

I'm going to partially do this. Unfortunately, I just redesigned my room around a year ago and I'm rocking the Renaissance (sp?) styling (which is red, gold, and brown). Yeah, this is hard to change, but I added a hammock and removed my bed already. Best decision I've ever made by the way. Also going to be looking at some creeper wall plants and possibly a fountain with strategically placed LEDs. This is going to be fun to mess around with though, can't do too much otherwise I'll REALLY have conflicting themes. It doesn't matter too much of I go out of my way to add abnormal things, because my room is a huge representation of me (lucid dreaming trick), and I really don't care what others think (although I get to hear it anyways because my dad always seems to be on the ball with tradition).

That sounds really cool! That's kind of what I was talking about. That sounds like it'll look really cool when you're finished

What I need to do is create some hanging shelving and rods which I can put on my wall. I can wrap vines around them to make it look nice (probably with a poster in the background to make it easier to make it look rocky). The shelving I can put many things on like other potted plants, rocks, that fountain idea could work (I could do have enough skill in pottery to be able to sculpt that if I want to make my own, getting hold of a kiln is easy and free for me as a high school student as well).

Anyone else want to try to contribute ideas to this? I'm gonna try to get pics when my room is finished (it used to be finished, but I had to move everything around to fit the hammock in, and now there is a TON of negative space in my room that is bugging me a lot).

I have a large 52 gallon fish tank just sitting around as well, and I was thinking of putting it back in (but my sister is kind of using it temporarily for her new guinea pig right now though).

Oh boy, I just realized how big of a project I just got myself into.
