I was just wondering, does it rain or thunderstorm on Pandora? What about other things, like tornadoes or earthquakes?
This is a discussion thread about: Pandoran Weather inside the Pandora forum, part of the AVATAR Movie Forums category. I was just wondering, does it rain or thunderstorm on Pandora? What about other things, like tornadoes or earthquakes?...

There's rain in the movie, I believe there's a brief shot of a thunderstorm in the beginning as the Valkyrie is descending to the surface (in any case the survival guide talks about Pandora having intense electrical stroms). The guide also speaks of Pandora having much more tectonic plate movement than Earth which equals earthquakes as well as a lot of volcanic activity. I don't believe tornadoes were discussed but I assume Pandora has those as well, at least in certain areas.
Oh that's right. Silly me, I forgot that part. Thanks for that though! I need to get my hands on that guide.
Hurricanes can only happen over warm bodies of water, and over ocean water. They start loosing power when they go over land.
In the original scriptment, there was a place similar to Yellowstone in terms of hot springs activity. If we see something like that in the sequal, I wonder how it will be protrayed or how it will look.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.
"Wall-mounted keyboards? It must be THE FUTURE!"

"They set out from Plymouth and landed IN Plymouth! How lucky is that?!"

"There are many dangers on Pandora, and one the most stubtlest is that you may come to love it too much."
- Dr. Grace Augustine, "Avatar"
After they move to site 26, if you look out the window during one of Jakes Vlogs, you can see it raining.
It rains in the movie for a bit. seems to be foggy more though
I have a feeling there will be some more variations of weather in part 2. I'd love to see one of those extreme thunder storms.
