If there are not an infininte number of planets, NASA has estimated that there are 0.006 (lol) other advanced alien civilisations that could contact us in the Milky Way. That means that even if there are only 1000 galaxies, there are 6 alien civilisations that are more advanced than us. The na'vi are "less advanced" than us, so there would be a much greater chance of them existing.

Yeah maybe all this statistic are right today, but more then 1000 years ago, human was thinking the Earth was flat and the centre of the universe. What I mean is, all our knowledge of the universe will allays change to make an adaptation of what is more real. We will never be sure until we see it, but we can believe, try and evolve.
No one can teach you to see.

Cool article I just hope that all these things are actually true and possible, and that there's really a chance, even one in a million, to find a planet like Pandora... but even so, how would we get there?... we'd have to do Cryo too i guess

Check out the orbital simulations of a large variety of Kepler exosolar planet candidates.

Note they say 'Earth sized Planets and Moons', they do not say they are
    A. Inhabited
    B. Have water
    C. Have the correct orbit

Don't get your hopes up. The chances of us finding microorganisms are extremely higher then finding a Na'vi

Yea pretty much if something is feasable to happen, then it has happened "somewhere" in the universe, so if a planet/moon like Pandora is scientifically feasable then you could say it is "out there", the only problem is it may be 10 light years away... or it could be 10 million light years away. Who knows, maybe the size of the universe is "natures" way of protecting sentient beings from the affects of others. If we do find another people on a world like the Na'vi that is within reach I hope we will remember how lucky we are to have companions so close by, and if we ever decide to make contact to remember that fact.
