Thumbs up The.. I'm not depressed by Avatar thread

Now I'm not sure how well this seeing as how a lot of people seem to be suffering from Post Avatar Depression (PAD). However, I thought I would make it to see how many of us have gotten over their PAD or never had PAD to begin with.

The topic has been hot the past couple of days, with articles even appearing on the CNN website. Needless to say... our community has gotten a lot of flak about this. This criticism has angered me extremely (for I once having suffered from PAD). I could list the reasons for my anger but really... you guys all know how I feel.

Anyway I digress. As I stated, I once suffered from PAD. I felt a type sorrow for our world seemed to be lost to commercialism and greed. However, after awhile this feeling dulled down. Avatar is a great piece of work and I’m sure JC is amazed at the far reaching effects it has had (while simultaneously rolling in piles of money lol).

So who is with me? Who either never had PAD or has kicked the feeling. And now just appreciates Avatar for the splendid film it is and the messages it conveys :D

    Wink

Rather than being depressed, I am more alive than ever!
When we saw the love between Neytiri and Jake my lifemate and I saw the same in our love for each other.
I have a new song (I See You) that I can worship the Architect Of The Universe with.
This experience has made both our lives richer and better than ever!

Haha that’s cute. Yeah if anything now I feel happier because I got to experience Pandora through Avatar and it has caused me to change some of my lifestyle habits for the better

I too am starting to come over my PAD, for instance: rather than getting goosebumps / envy when i see clips from Avatar, i start to more admire the amazing work that makes the Na'vi and Avatars look too real to be true!

And again, i'm starting to appreciate life and our world alot more than i used to, however, most of the people in my dormitory at my boarding school are dicks and cant wait for my graduation to live my new life to the fullest!

Yeah, no point in living in a fantasy world. I say just take the positive messages from this movie to heart, and think about what James Cameron was trying to say.
    Neytiri cried because Quaritch lied.

Yeah I saw it for the 6th time (after I got over my PAD) and really enjoyed it more. I was able to take in the whole of the movie instead of thinking.. I want to be there.. i want to be there.. i want to be there lol

Got a friend who have not seen Avatar in 3D yet and asked me if i wanted to join him, (will then be my 4'th time watching the movie) guess i'll take that opportunity and, like you said, have a more positive attitude rather than having the mantra which you also had, the one saying "I want to be in pandora!"

Yeah I'm sure you will notice a big difference after you come out aswell. Instead of feeling PAD you will appreciate it for all its qualities

p.s. <---- does anyone think that smiley looks like an angry tranny?

Pretty much this. I never really had any kind of "depression" or anything after seeing it, although it did touch me the way very, very few movies ever do. I'm kinda trying to throw my energy into affecting positive change, starting locally and regionally.

I really think that's the best we call can do: take the positive messages of the film and apply them to ourselves and our communities.
