i'm also wondering what the long-term effects of pollution from the refinery stacks are, given that the rda operated the refinery there for some 20 to 25 years before the advent of Jake Sully and the victorious Na'vi. those stacks spit out carcinigens, chemicals, and poisonous smog, every single day,not to mention all the other equipment that had internal combustion engines.

I agree with Sanjwale, as I said previously, all that stuff rda brought, is Nothing at all, compared to the size of Pandora, I mean, if we had a graph of all the machines, cars, industries, that make pollution on Earth, we'd all be surprised to be alive, in fact I already am, but I'm still breathing, and I hope I, and all of you will for a long time yet

Surprised no ones looked into the survival guide yet. There's a big section of plants that absorb toxins out of the atmosphere on Pandora, including xenon.

Hundreds of years is nothing to the grand time scales that nature operates in. So long as the damage is not ongoing, the planet will heal over time. The trees of Pandora will be victorious!

^ that! i want to see the old fallen Hometree have some kind of last word in the sequels....maybe the ruins of the tree can contribute something in the coming rematch between the rda murderers and the Na'vi defense forces in the sequels.

correct, according to info the Valkyrie uses a fussion reactor, though depending on how it works there would still be some radiation. but given Pandora's environment the effect would be greatly reduced.

Peoples points about the size of pandora is ultimately one of the beefs I have with the film, it dipicts RDA's destruction of pandoran jungle as catastrophic (as to promote the green message) yet completely fails to remember that this is happening on a world bigger than earth and that RDA's presence on Pandora can only be a few hundred km's (distance to the hometree).

    Hi, welcome to AF Exostrike!

While I agree that the RDA destruction did not seem that serious on a planetary scale, it was certainly horrifying to the Omatikaya and could have easily developed into a much larger problem with the RDA tying to take the whole planet. To add to this, the mining was taking place near a very important neural center for Pandoran life. If the second sacred neural tree was destroyed it could seriously damage the entire ecosystem.

Pandora is also about 3/4 of Earth's size, not larger than earth.

    *Shakes Head...*

For you exostrike, and all those that think like you... Those who do not See. If you're smart enough, you'll get the message:

"For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail."
