Environmental problem on Pandora

i'm also wondering what the long-term effects of pollution from the refinery stacks are,given that the rda operated the refinery there for some 20 to 25 years before the advent of Jake Sully and the victorious Na'vi. those stacks spit out carcinigens,chemicals,and poisonous smog,every single day,not to mention all the other equipment that had internal combustion engines.

I agree with Sanjwale, as I said previously, all that stuff rda brought, is Nothing at all, compared to the size of Pandora, I mean, if we had a graph of all the machines, cars, industries, that make pollution on Earth, we'd all be surprised to be alive, in fact I already am, but I'm still breathing, and I hope I, and all of you will for a long time yet

Surprised no ones looked into the survival guide yet. There's a big section of plants that absorb toxins out of the atmosphere on Pandora, including xenon.

^ that! i want to see the old fallen Hometree have some kind of last word in the sequels....maybe the ruins of the tree can contribute something in the coming rematch between the rda murderers and the Na'vi defense forces in the sequels.

Most of them burst into flames so it probably burned off a lot of the fuels on board. Maybe the nuclear reactors aboard the shuttle were fusion reactors wich should be a lot less radioactive than conventional fission reactors.

While I agree that the RDA destruction did not seem that serious on a planetary scale, it was certainly horrifying to the Omatikaya and could have easily developed into a much larger problem with the RDA tying to take the whole planet. To add to this, the mining was taking place near a very important neural center for Pandoran life. If the second sacred neural tree was destroyed it could seriously damage the entire ecosystem.

Pandora is also about 3/4 of Earth's size, not larger than earth.
