This information is compilation data from film, game and known data.
For example, Pandora's water exist in liquid condition. From here, we can estimate Poliphemus's orbit radius, know luminosity Alpha Centauri. Because, Poliphemus have to situated in habitable zone. And so on...
Something can calculate generally without data from film. For example, calculation tells that star under Banshee's wing on this picture - it is Alfa Centauri B...
