People are complaining it would look too much like a soap opera, or too real. Really? 'Cause I remember a time not too long ago when some people complained that because the Na'vi had blue skin, they would look unrealistic. Funny how the internet chattery becomes hypocritical at points.

I've heard similar "complaints" about high refresh rate (240Hz) LCD tv's, that the "forced" high refresh rate gives the picture a glossy "photo-realistic" effect that though sharp and clear doesn't seem natural. It's a subtle nuance that won't be noticed by most ppl including me... Anything that would improve the focus/clarity of the 3d will be noticed & appreciated by the majority of viewers a lot more than will even be aware of a "slicker" overall picture quality. I was impressed by the quality of the 3d in Avatar but at times it seemed a little out of focus/fuzzy.
