    Default Eating meat

I read that some of you wish to become vegetarians. I had that thought too
Definately changing the way you think about eating meat will satisfy your need of living more eco/living more like Na'vi

If you think it will make you happy - definately work on it. Less meat ate = less meat bought = less meat "made" = less animals killed. Just make sure you'll give your organism everything it needs for development

If you're not sure... Here's my way:
Don't stop eating meat. Just show some respect to the animal that got killed. A good idea is to check what you eat, and then honour it (maybe a little prayer?). Just think about the victim, thank Eywa for giving birth to it, and pray to Eywa to prevent killing so many animals in our world today.

A little bonus - prayer Neytiri makes after killing an animal:
Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì.
    (Thanks to zakyeo)

I See You, Brother, and thank you. Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People.
    (Thanks to Tanhì)

Its all just my little idea. I'm sure I'll start respect food (meat - as human murderer, fruits and vegetables - as Earth's gift for us)

While this is kind of true, I just stopped eating meat after watching the movie lol. I dunno, I feel great too. I might have to hit up Whole Foods or something and get some soy protein cause yeah like you said I'm not getting the necessary nutrients in meat anymore.

I like the idea. Only one objection: don't pray to Eywa. This is Earth, not Pandora (sad, I know), so pray to the earth if you wish.

When eating meat it should be also considered to only buy when you are sure that animals are not hold in small cages. At that i will take care from now on as much as possible - It's really painful to see animals not moving around freely.. Cage held is such a brutality...

    Hmm...

In your post it sounds like you describe other living beings as "natures gift to us". You wouldn't want to get killed just because someone saw you as "nature's gift" to him, would you?

Personally, I would not have any moral obligations against going out in the woods and shoot a bear if I needed to for survival - it is how it works in nature. But raising animals as livestock is nothing but murder and torture.

My recommendation on meat is to hunt (or buy locally procured or organic meat). There are several advantages to this.
    1. The animal is guaranteed to have lived a free and happy life.
    2. If you are skilled, its death is quick and painless.
    3. There is no negative impact on the environment.

If you go to McDonald's, their beef was most likely raised by cutting down the rainforest, then they were likely sent to a slaughterhouse. It isn't pretty, and it isn't clean. The same is pretty true of many sources of meat.

I argue hunting is beneficial, and meat is a basis of the human (and Na'vi) diet. Vegetarianism is tricky, because you still need protein. Eat soy beans? They have to be farmed somewhere, and that requires open land and usually deforestation.

thats the problem today, there are so much people in the world already.. if everyone would go into the wood no animal would soon be there anymore. its a circle of doom.. really... no matter how you see it, this is really hard to anser what to do.

Theoretically we could all eat no meat anymore.. but i don't think that most people would agree with that.

So.. is there any possible answer there to give for that?

You'd be surprised. In the US Maryland has huge forest areas that are overcrowded with deer. New Jersey has similar things. Even Hawaii has a problem with wild boars. There's game almost everywhere but cities, and in cities there are organic foods.
