Not meaning to be mean, but anybody can say they can. But if you just leave tomorrow to live in the wild, and you don't know the region, the forest, the plants, animals and their behaviors/trails, than you're gonna lose your religion in less than a day. The Amazon Jungle I've been too is beautiful, BUT deadly. I studied for months, (JUST STUDIED), on the place. But all the pain and hardship was worth it, I garauntee you all. Also living in the wild as stated earlier, would take mental and physical discipline and stamina, although having others with you would help tremendously.
ofcourse not without any knowledge of the region![]()

Totally right mate, I say i wanna do this adventure, i would leave back my whole life to give it a chance in the wild mate, but as you said, i wouldn't have a CLUE on where to start... i need to know how to hunt, build a shelter, deal with the meat, know the plants, be near a river for water, make fire! and many other things, so... i have to admit, i may be fit, and have all the good intention and will, but i am not ready to be a Na'vi... :(

To live like the Na'Vi?
Sure.I was practically raised in the bush and while diffrent areas have diffrent rhytm the experience helps finding that rhytm before it's too late.Having developed the survivalist mindset and skillset would help too.Doing heavy-duty martial arts training keeps me fit, dextrous and alert. No stranger to tight-knit communal living and hard life either.Served my time in the army in the signals corps where it often was just our squad with the nearest officer (and supply post) being 150km away. That meant living in a tent with 12 other people in the middle of nowhere with little or no access to the supply system and with opfor searching for you.The safety and well being of the camp depended solely on its members.Everyone had their role and everyone was expected to fulfill that role to the best of their ability all the while helping others with their roles if at all possible. You learned how to be a part of a bigger picture quickly that way and how to live in that kind of tight-knit group.Heck, the communal dinner scene at the hometree actually got me nostalgic for my army days.
Hi FoxGhostThat was very pleasant to read, you really did live in the wild and experienced community and helping each other and depending on each other, that's great i admire your story vey much
I personally only 3 months ago was about to join the army, seriously, i just felt totally lost and depresses and joining the british army seemed like the only 'way out' i'd have a new life, paid well, but i realised i wasn't being rational. I'm turning 18 in two months and joining the army is still an option, but i realised i wanted to join mainly for the fitness and lifestyle as a soldier, that good part, so i'd be totally self dependant, and fit; but when i think i might get deployed, and ill have to war for real,i hadn't toughth of that enough, i can be a tough guy as much as i want, but the idea of shooting somebody or getting shot scares the crap out of me... it's not in my kinda peronality, and i know in the army there isn't only front line infantry, there's loads of other 'safer jobs' but that was my idea anyway... So after that i think i won't join now... I decided I Can be fit by myself, i already am, and as long as i keep doing push ups, running, punching the heavybag, i will be Pretty Fit. So i'm going to handle the Na'vi lifestyle my way =) I love Na'vi with all my soul
and i'm going to keep trying to be like one, being fit, learning archery, having a bit of fighting skills which i have, having done martial arts and practising boxing, and keep eating healthier

Man up, sweetheart.

Heh, i wouldn't recommend army to anyone. To quote Monty Python: 'Let's not go there. It's a rather silly place'.There were good times out in the field but logic and common sense rarely fit in the chain of command. As far as i can see you are doing fine fitness-wise.The rest is all about cultivating that 'strong mental attitude' our favorite colonel talks about.I wish you luck![]()

Can't say yes or no right away, bu it would be cool to have...like a few month trial to see if you can hang. Then you have the choice to either go back to earth or stay in Pandora. Of course though I would only stay in Pandora if I can be a na'vi...who wants to be in pandora and have to be human...you would be toast..
Could I live a primitive lifestyle here in eastern North America? Absolutely.
Pandora? Absolutely not. I don't have the proper skills for a different planet, I don't know what is edible, what to hunt, where to sleep and be safe, etc.
I'd be as dead on Pandora as a Na'vi would be here.
