With only 5 or 6 Toruk Makto, a deep fellowship with Eywa, and the ability to access memories, I am curious about how the Na'vi describe their history and origins...their "evolution" as a people. Somehow, I doubt they'd tell of how great great uncle prolemuris lost a pair of arms on his way up the chain.

Perhaps the clans have been thus from their origins and warfare either never was for several generations until Eywa commanded it. Or maybe Eywa remained silent, letting them resolve their own conflicts. Until the first Toruk Makto (who didn't know he was at the time) wisely inquired of Eywa as to how to end the current tribal/clan conflict and lead the clans out of great sorrow.
Yup , I'm sure other clans, like the clan of the Great plains and Prairies that we see when Jake gathers the clans, domesticate even bigger species like the talioang, and maybe others we haven't yet seen! Also, the Omaticaya are great hunters and fighters on land and in air, imagine how amazing the Eastern sea clans of the Ikrans are though, specialised and airborne :D as we've also seen in the film
I laughed at the evolution theory part hahaha, I doubt the same man.
Also, one new curiousity you sparked in me is, since the next movie will probably focus more on the Seas, as James Cameron announced, I'm wondering if there will be actual Sea creatures - Makto If even us on Earth have beautiful bioluminiscent species that live underwater, in the depth of seas, imagine what creatures James may create for Pandora's sea... And I wonder if they have some kind of boats or canoes... I'm really curious now to know if they actually sail the sea or not, they can't canoe in that immensely rough sea we saw in the film. Well mainly, we've seen their ful connection and sync in the forest life of the Omaticaya, as hunters and plant gatherers, yet I don't know anything about the coast life style the other Na'vi have.
Also I agree, I wonder what the first Toruk Makto was like, and for what occasion he was chosen.
