Default Is The Queue Naturally Braided?

This one has been bugging me for a while - does the queue naturally grow braided, or does it need to be braided at birth? Is it something extra done to prepare a Na'vi baby after birth, just like cutting the umbilical cord? What about the Avatars? Is it possibly braided en-route by one of the non-cryopreserved attendants?

I think its braided at birth. In one scene in the movie, Neytiri doesnt have her hair braided if you look closely. Thats just my idea. Not 100% sure.

    > I'd guess the queue is naturally braided, as I believe children Na'Vi would need to do the tsaheylu with Eywa at some point. It seems as the braided hair, as it is, is already an organ of the Na'Vi body.

    > Yeah, but it's not all her hair that gets unbraided.
    > But now, you got me thinking... What if the queue was a "worm-like" structure, and the Na'Vi just braid the hair around it to protect it?

I think the hair is braided around it by someone, the Na'vi would leave it like this all the time until they need to redo it, since part of the reason they do is to help protect it.

I think someone braids the hair to protect it.

The Avatars that were grown in the lab already had a braided queue in that embryonic fluid. Assuming that they weren't drained midway just to braid the hair, it must grow that way naturally.

Someone probably braided their hair just before the people to control them arrived, since they would be starting to use them the next day.

Interesting, im assume its gets braided to protect it or maybe it grows and part of the hair does that.

In one scene with Neytiri hair undown, maybe the rest was under it? idk
