    Default Na'vi see Earth

We are amazed by the alien beauty of Pandora...

In many ways Pandora and Earth are alike:

But what would the Na'vi think about the environments here most alien to them? How would they react? What would they relate them to?

Well if we were to include showing them the industrys and such i think they would be confused, maybe abit scared... But showing them the beautiful places i think it would be different. I think they would like the nice places, like the pictures above.

i agree that the Na'vi would like terra's Natural World....but they are used to the wide open, unpolluted, and undeveloped pristine beauty of the forest, and that has become increasingly smaller on this over-populated and evermore-resource depleting planet. i think the Na'vi would like to see whales breaching the surface, dolphins jumping and playing, but fish factory ships would mar that beauty.

i am saddened by what we have done to this once beautiful planet......

I mean the natural, pristine parts of this world.
I was mostly wondering how they might react to deserts and pine forests or the autumn leaves. Earth has a lot more red and yellow than pandora too.

It is beyond terrible what we have done to may parts of this planet and to ourselves.

Thank god I live in a place far from that hell.
My home looks kind of like this:

People around me are very anti-corporate too. Wal-Mart tried to open a store here and was pushed out by the county council because it would compete with family businesses. McDonalds recently went out of business because of low patronage, and was replaced by a Thai immigrant family's noodle place lol.

Nice thread I agree with everyone basically, I'm sure they'd love the beautiful places on Earth, but obviously we have the downside of 'modern civilization' , industries, pollution or 'urbanism' and stuff, there's two completely opposite worlds, on the same planet, and it's up to us to choose where we really belong, I'm going for Nature... And the Na'vi being so awesome, never even had to choose... They're not as stupid as humans, ruining themselves in a dirty vicious circle by thinking that making money is better than being healthy and respecting a wonderful planet God created...

I think that once they became accustomed to the higher gravity and wearing their modified Exo-Packs, there are a lot of places on Earth that they would find fascinating. I don’t think they would do well in the cities/towns because most of our habitations wouldn’t accommodate their size. They would think Earth is a great place to visit, but they wouldn’t want to live there. I would volunteer to be their guide if they return the favor and show me around Pandora!

There are still so many beautiful places on our own planet. The pictures above are great, thanks Ximphron. Hopefully we grow up in time to save these spots for our children and their children.

I think they would love the natural beauty of our world (hey, Earth is kinda like our own Pandora, it has some lovliness), but methinks too much that the natural world we love in reality has been taken over by indrustries and urbanization by the time of the film (remember what Jake said, "we killed our mother" :( ), so the only natural beauty we could ever show the Na'vi in the movie's universe would be in photographs.

However, it's always interesting to speculate how the Na'vi would react to our world. What would they find alien? Perhaps everything. What would they find interesting? Well, being curious has been a trade-mark for every intelligent species out there, so I think there would a lot of questions on everything imaginable.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

I was referring to todays world, since it is still mostly wild, but I suppose they could not see our world until the time of the film.

I tried to post pics of what would seem the most alien to them. Also they would find it alien that our planet gets almost pitch black at night, and that all the trees are so small, that they change color in the fall and lose their leaves in the winter, a cycle that might be totally strange to them. Seeing fur and feathers and brown creatures instead of blue...
    they're used to seeing this:
i'm sure they would be fascinated to see this:

Just imagine seeing furry creatures for the first time...
Or imagine being used to bright, blue nights,
    and then seeing this
I wonder if they could even see in the dark like we can, since it never gets totally dark on Pandora?
