Default a short sad but true story

my father was a millwright at a local paper mill that has now shut down due to the economy.. some years ago when the gov was interested in giving tax breaks for alternative energy this mill decided it could save a lot of money by converting its wasted steam into electricity.. they even made up a proposal.. as soon as the local power company found out they did everything they could do to stop it.. and they did stop it.. so you see there is a force that prevents doing the right thing for the environment.. its called the 'real world RDA'.. if we do not stop their greed from wasting resources they may never do the right thing..

that's about it.. it was during the first big oil shortage scare in the 70's.. the mill was a large paper mill (stone container) that produced a lot of wasted heat and energy in the form of steam.. the mill thought it would be practical to capture the steam and generate electricity.. saving money and improving its image.. but the power company lobbied the local 'repos' gov to say no.. after all.. that would mean they would take a big cut from their pocket book.. so it was tabled and silenced.. and that is about all i know about it..

:((( yeah, 'Real world RDA' sure does exist... Has existed for centuries... Corruption is usually the main problem, and stupid people who do not 'see' find it so much easier to have blood on their hands, (Talking generally) and fill their pockets with some more paper... That paper will vanish, while Sin won't.

It is sad to hear your story Transcend. But in the real world, its all too true. The fat cats care only for themselves and the size of their bank accounts. IIf anything affects their interests then they are going to stamp it out asap. What do they care about the envirionment? It doesn't pour money into their account and may even cost them money if it means they have to clean up their acts. Its so depressing, but even so, we have to 'do our bit' to help the planet in whatever way we can. There isn't any prestige or acclaim involved, no fortune to be made. From that point of view, the opposite often applies..ridicule and near poverty! But what the heck, this is 'Our' home. We need to stand up for Her!
