The combination human-environmental rights abuses this country has suffered are unspeakable.
This is the kind of world that our international business system is creating. Countries like Haiti where the lack of economic self-sufficiency is so severe that it has to re-import the same crops that it produces for the rest of the world. And the people are starving. Then we have countries like America where people eat like pigs and throw away the leftovers from dinner. The inequality is ridiculous. This international business system is "economically efficient" for the corporations, because in the business model the only thing that is important is profit. But it is completely inefficient for humanity and the environment. We have allowed a soul-less beast called a corporation to rape everything in our world. The next time your president talk about "the economy" on TV, now you know what he is talking about.
If you need another explanation of this international business system, go to the link at www.storyofstuff.com and watch the 20 minute Story of Stuff animated film. It's a brilliant little film. Then your education will be complete. Thanks again to user "AvatarSkeptic" for bringing this film to our forums.
