Default Haiti - It's Poverty and Environmental Destruction

Watch all three clips to get the complete picture. (FYI - The second clip did not post as a picture. It shows up as a link between clip one and three).

The combination human-environmental rights abuses this country has suffered are unspeakable.

This is the kind of world that our international business system is creating. Countries like Haiti where the lack of economic self-sufficiency is so severe that it has to re-import the same crops that it produces for the rest of the world. And the people are starving. Then we have countries like America where people eat like pigs and throw away the leftovers from dinner. The inequality is ridiculous. This international business system is "economically efficient" for the corporations, because in the business model the only thing that is important is profit. But it is completely inefficient for humanity and the environment. We have allowed a soul-less beast called a corporation to rape everything in our world. The next time your president talk about "the economy" on TV, now you know what he is talking about.

If you need another explanation of this international business system, go to the link at www.storyofstuff.com and watch the 20 minute Story of Stuff animated film. It's a brilliant little film. Then your education will be complete. Thanks again to user "AvatarSkeptic" for bringing this film to our forums.

It's absolutely pathetic. Humans are worse than animals to each other. We are controlled by corporations. A corporation is as far away as a social institution can get from a human being with a soul. By it's very definition a corporation is only in existence PURELY for self-interest and monetary profit. And because it is the dominant force that runs the human economy, it becomes our role model for how to behave as people, whether we like it or not. This is why we have forgotten about each other so much and we are consumed with having money and buying things. But we are not corporations, we are people, we cannot live with modus operandus that our life is PURELY for self-interest and monetary profit. Human life just doesn't work that way. This is just an excellent recipe for an unhappy life.

What will our money buy when everything that is worth having is destroyed? I said it before and I'll say it again...

I don't believe they've thought it out this far. Some people won't see there's a fire even when their *** is burning. And society is putting a lot of work into keeping them ignorant. They can be controlled easier this way.

What...you mean people are that ignorant? Wait...I can answer my own question on that one.

Beyond just the corporation. Corruption and bad government also lead to "hells" like what Haiti is living through currently. Don't get me wrong - i'm not an anarchist - I do believe there should be some form of government, but I believe it should be a corruption free democratic republic (which just doesn't exist).

But, corruption in government comes when those in power are more concerned with themselves, or their own status than that of the people whom they lead. When a legislator excepts a "large donation" from a corporation to help win an election - and then kicks back to the corporation to say think you....well there's the basis for it.

So don't forget to be upset at corrupt governments of the world as well!
