Yep, saw it in 2D the first three times. I was blown away, stunned, immersed, pulled in, astonished, overwhelmed, and so much more.

It's an amazing film. Avatar is still Avatar in 2D.

I have watched it in XpanD two times and was annoyed by the glasses and unsmooth movement in rapid scenes. For the 3D itself; Nice gimmick, but did nothing for the film - in my opinion. Would prefer 2D but we've got it only in 3D here.

I have to confess that the first time I saw Avatar was on one of those cheesy "watch online now" -sites, a bad bootlegged copy with low frame rate, resolution and sound. I wanted to see what the fuzz was all about and just couldn't stop watching (my wife was a bit confused when I finally got to bed at 2 am). That much for the quality as a part of the impact it made on me. I just had to go to the cinema as soon as possible after that. Twice.

I have watched Avatar in 2D and 3D. Like someone else already said it before, 3D is 100% and 2D is 99+%. Avatar is still the greatest movie of all time, regardless if it's 3D or 2D. When they remove it from the 3D theaters I hope it will still be available in 2D, 'cause I intend to keep on going and seeing it in 2D as many times as I can.

Number of times I've seen Avatar: 63
    Imax: 8 times; Real D 3D: 38 times; 2D: 12 times
    Special Edition: 5 times
BluRay and DVD: too many to count!

Currently, watching Avatar in Imax 3d is the closest thing to entering another reality that anyone is ever going to get for a long time.

The question of if Avatar should be judged in 2D is just silly. Its like asking people in the past to judge the first movie with sound as a silent picture or the first color movie as a black and white one. Avatar was made in 3D, judge it as such!

I've seen Avatar in 2D the first time and I was totally overwhelmed and blown away. So I went to see it in 3d and was even more impressed. 3d adds a new level of immersion but doesn't lose anything of its beauty and it's still exactly as stirring and amazing in 2D.

Yes Avatar is still Avatar in 2D. I've seen it more times in 2D than 3D. Yes, the film is enhanced greatly with its astonishing stereoscopic 3D but I find it just as enjoyable in 2D.

I wish I had seen Avatar in 2D. The 3D isn't that impressive. It's not realistic. It's like a pop-up book. But not only that, the 3D made me incredibly nauseous. I almost ran from the cinema to go and be sick. It was like plane sickness or car sickness.
It pours over boiling words. It's more than we deserve. Love is a beautiful curse.
