This is nothing serious
But wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all meet up and create our own civilisation? A civilisation that's one with nature and accepting of everyone's beliefs no matter how radical?
We wouldn't necessarily have to walk around in loincloths but we could attempt to make life a little a less complicated, connect with our roots, and forget the stresses of modern day society. ^ ^

It would be. A Utopian society. Yet the thing is that there's going to be a selfish side to a group of people in any society sooner or later. Unless of course, everyone forgoes all materialistic lusts and hunt wild games, wear clothes made up of pelts, and generally know how to treat illnesses here and there....

It's probably going to be really hard. Then again, tribes in rural areas live along just fine. I guess what I'm trying to say is: It's going to be hard for us whom have all these technologies around us for many, many years to suddenly live like Na'vis.

Gah. I hate reality.

I would relish the opportunity if it would work. Society today has become too estranged. We all sit on the facebook and cell phones, sending messages to eachother without seeing them. Hell, with cell phones, instead of calling, we text!
I work with computers for a living, and I would give it all up in a heartbeat. And I'm serious. Just because its what I'm good at doesnt mean its what I want to do the most.

But it would take a community, people willing to give and take, maybe sometimes unequally. Most people arent kosher with that :-/

Hehe, I don't even have a phone so it's really weird to see people clicking on their phones during class to their friends across the room X3
I'm sure I could say I'd be willing to give everything up, but in actuality, to give everything up for a belief that would be shunned by the rest of humanity, I don't know what I'd do.
If there were enough people, I definitely would be willing to give up my possessions and meet up with all of you fine people :D

IF I didn't laugh at this one video I saw of hippies crying over fallen trees, I would've felt like I'd fit in this type of thing

If an idyllic civilisation isn't probable
What about a really good MMORPG?
Make your own character, have an avatar, enter Pandora, go on all sorts of quests and adventures with other Na'vi
Oooh the thought makes me giddy

True. Very true. Too bad our society today just wouldn't allow that. Unless we go back to the hunter/gatherer era. XD

We just need a time machine gosh darnit!
However, our presence might screw up the space-time continuum!
Great Scott!

I've studied enough anthropology, archaeology, and history to be cynical enough of humanity's progression that I would not want this.

I'll take a virtual reality game. My real life rocks, I'm not interested in giving it up.

Ah this is true. Such a great man.

You see I would love to END UP in the situation you have described however I feel it would not work if we just suddenly decided to do it.

People need to travel, to be on their own and to free themselves of materialism before you can do anything such as this. So if I took a 5 year period living rough and saw through it. I would be happy in such a tribe

That would be very awesome, but I feel we should work to make ALL of humanity that united civilization.
