I just remind myself that Pandora is very dangerous. Probably five minutes after admiring the beauty of the place there is a good chance I would be:
    1) Ripped to pieces by a pack of viperwolves
    2) Trampled by a Hammerhead Titanothere
    3) Devoured by a Thanator
    4) Pecked to death by a group of Ikran
    5) Snatched away by a Toruk
    6) Pinned to a tree by a Na'vi arrow
    7) Stung, bitten or eaten by some other Pandora plant or animal

Then even if I survived that I probably be crushed to death by RDA Bulldozer or hit by a stray RDA bullet.

The real world may be mundane, but at least I know how to survive here.

Aye, thats what makes their life so exciting. I meen thats like an everyday thing for them, just as driving a car and looking out for bad drivers is for us. I liked the part when Toruk chased Jake and Neytiri and after they laughed about it.

Very nice. I like that analogy. Getting chased and devoured by a Toruk is probably the equivalent of a parking ticket. I imagine it happens quite frequently.

But really, people do forget how dangerous pandora is. Jake is almost killed by a Titanthere and a Thanator in the first few minutes after being on Pandora. Then a few hours later he is almost killed by Neytiri and a pack of viperwolves. So in the space of a few hours he could have been killed four times. And I haven't even included the time when Tsu'tey attacked him, and he was even with Neytiri at the time.

Also, when the Toruk chased Neytiri and Jake, it showed that even the Na'vi could be potentially be victims of predators on Pandora. They are by no means immune.

I think watching it takes away that depression, because when I am watching it, i dont know how to describe how I feel, but it feels good. I want to just forget about it all sometimes, take down my avatar wallpaper, stop reading about it and what not, but I just cant.
I have to use a quote from the movie sometimes I guess "Sooner or later though, you always have to wake up."
I heard writing a sequel helps, but I just cant compete with what has been laid out.

I dont know if theres any WoW addicts out there, but after seeign Avatar I have lost all desire to play (and trust me thats like being addicted to any drug)
I'm just hoping it will pass over time, but if anybody has any recommendations how to cope I would love to hear them.
I intend to go see it for a 4th time, and as many times as the cinema will let me, I have to say I'm extremely glad I've found this forum, the day after I saw Avatar, I was completely depressed, like I said in the dream thread, I looked at my hands and thought "What I wouldn't give...", going and seeing again, and again,It makes me feel good, I love Pandora, not just a spur of the moment feeling, I legitimately love all of Pandora and "waking up" afterwords is extremely hard to do, As for it going away, for some people it will, but for some it won't, look at Star Wars, there were people who named there children after Luke and Leia, these people completely embraced a moment that changed there life, and I'm proud to say I'm one of those people, I don't know if I will name my children after Jake and Neytiri, but I will consider it, lol right now I've been delving into the Avatar Game: This forum helps alot too, just do what makes you feel like you're there again
