Ninja/duck/food posts? I'm just tryiong to understand how a 3 hour movie can effect some people in such a dramatic way.
the duck thing doesnt matter. A lot of people are affected by this movie because they want to experience pandora, but can't because of earthly limitations. some of them (self included) also want to have the avatar experience first hand and be able to live like the na'vi.
You can call me Tokx
Eywa ngahu
Just ask anyone here.
*ignore the ninja's*
Take me for example, before I say this movie I wasn't going anywhere in life. I was working in a dead end job with no education and no ambition. But the moment I left that theater I had this drive?
I really can't explain it but everything seemed clearer. I recently enrolled back in college, gave up playing video games hours upon hours on any given day, learning to curb certain aspects of my life.
With a seemingly infinite number of planets in the universe it's preposterous to believe that there isn't other intelligent life out there.
The chances that a species exactly like the Na'vi exist are most likely slim to none, but think of everything else? How do you know that, in time, we won't stumble upon a species of humanoids even more interesting and majestic?
I've been watching a lot of stuff from Dr. Michio Kaku, a renowned theoretical physicist. He, like Carl Sagan, explains his theories and knowledge in a way that everyone can understand.
A lot of his stuff focuses around how things thought to be impossible (Time travel, speed of light, teleportation, invisibility, etc) could theoretically be feasible and how we could visit other planets very soon, given the correct circumstances.
The only thing that sucks is that our race has a nasty side (corruption such as gangs, politicians, cults, killers, etc) that may lead other life to believe that we're a species incapable of living peacefully; they're probably right.
