    Thumbs up My experience

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to this forum, just been lurking and reading and relating until now, i don't even know how to include a profile picture

here's the story: I'm a grade 12 high male school student in Canada. The first time that i seen this movie, a year an a half ago when it first came out, it didn't hit me that hard, probably because i saw it with a girl, so my mind was elsewhere.... , but i watched it again at Christmas a year later (the 178 minute version), and it, completely changed my life. I was blown away, i literally cried afterwards at how much I wanted to be a Na'vi and live such a pure life in touch with nature... to give back to our nature. The very same nature which gave us life, which made it possible for humanity to evolve is being destroyed by the same humans, and it's sad beyond comprehension. I want to be free from money, to live my life in some rainforest in Venezuela, or Costa Rica with the native peoples who are wise beyond superficial means, who live spiritually with our mother, our nature. I honestly feel like I'm a Na'vi in a human avatar, Earth was once Pandora, roughly 15,000 years ago, we we're almost the same as the Na'vi, the only difference was that we couldn't fly in Ikrans or play in bioluminescent flora at night , but aside from that we're identical. There are people who still live that very same lifestyle on earth deep inside rainforests... however their habitat is threatened, and we must save it, we must do something. I believe that we can make Earth the Pandora that it once was... technology can coexist with a natural harmony, after all if it wasn't for technology, we wouldn't have been able fly to Pandora :P , or even get a wake up call from James Cameron . There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think about Pandora and all it's wonders and how I'd go there in a heartbeat if I were given the chance, but that reality doesn't exist unfortunately, we have earth... for it was earth which gave inspiration for the creation of the fictional (:() Utopia on an a moon 4.3 light years away, as hopeful as I am in hoping for Pandora to exist somewhere, which it probably does, there's no chance of reaching it within our lifetime... :( , but once again, we have earth, we need to preserve our own planet... the thickness of some of the amazon jungles is even greater than that of Pandora, and while we may not have floating mountains, we have such a great biodiversity of fauna, flora and landscapes on our planet, that is absolutely incredible. All I ask of you guys is to contribute to the betterment of our dear planet earth, let's save our mother from corporate greed together, lets do something. I'm going into university for Aerospace engineering, and then I plan of getting a Ph.D in environmental applied science and management to reduce emissions in jets and cars, as well as to advocate corporate sustainability internationally (stopping those mother******* from cutting down our trees). I also want to work with James Cameron to help indigenous peoples with their issues and threats, once I get my Ph.D. Please do something similar, together we can fight this system of greed, I've found something worth fighting for guys, and I know that you guys feel the same way as I do.

And I'm not even going to get started on Neytiri, O how I wish she were real :'(, how I long for such a girl of such spirituality and depth and love for nature... thats another thread however :P

Thanks a lot for the read guys.

Welcome to the forums, coincidently i am listening to a song called "Freedom" as i was reading your post and as i type this alot of us felt like you when we first saw the movie and still do. the best we can do is take that message from the film and apply it to ourselves and to whatever we can around. Hello tm20! i was just reading a thread with you posting a picture somewhere on this website, what a coincidence that you posted I've never before had such a life changing experience in my life... a week after I saw it on that Christmas day i went to a local forest and just say there contemplating how poorly our nature is being treated on this planet... I cried, and I'm not the type of guy to usually do this, if you'd know me in real life from before. I still love doing things that I loved from before such as working out, but things have never been the same, and I don't want them to go back. Even when i work out, I imagine myself a na'vi running through the vivid rainforests of Pandora, driven by adventure and curiosity, not the greed ridden corruption we call money. I love Pandora, it's people, and it's spirituality so much that I will make my career path completely centered on the ambition of restoring this planet to the Pandora that it once was, and to hopefully, somehow help humanity realize it's own primitive desire for oneness with nature. It's only been 15000 years or so since we were all neolithic, biologically we haven't changed, mentally of course, we did get a little "insane" as stated by Mo'at. I really hope humanity's insanity can be cured. I really hope that women stop thinking that putting on a crapload of make up will make them desirable... it makes them as desirable as an apple pie on an empty stomach, great while you indulge for the time being, but not fulfilling for the body, not fulfilling emotionally, not fulfilling spiritually. Such shallow routines done by most women nowadays are only good for physical relief, no different than sleep, food, or breathing. Men deep down want a spiritual connection, whether we see it initially or not is irrelevant, but the idea of Neytiri, the type of woman she represents is absolute perfection... there is nothing shallow about this woman, she lives for the collective good of her people, and of her nature which gave her life. Most of all, I really hope that this feeling never goes away in me, in you, or anybody else on this forum... we can do something great together, it's not the government that defies the people, the government is a reflection of his people, so we must do something to advocate change, advocate change towards the sustainability of our planet, towards the preservation of our indigenous people, towards a shift towards realization of just how connected we really are to nature, to Eywa. Please let's do something, I'm already planning an entire career path towards the dream of making this planet the Pandora it once was, please do something also ! we can do it, I know we can

by the way, check out this video, Im going to do this soon, flying an ikran really inspired me
    watch it in 720P

damn that looks fun :D and as for getting together and doing something, well we did! last year members from this forum and anotyher Avatar forum worked on a group film project. it was proposed by Alan who is on this forum and as the idea was brought to peoples's attention we soon had a large group and began filming. see what can happen when you have people that are willing to make a differnce?

Hi Freedom, thanks for the inspiring words. You keep that feeling, okay? Keep it burning inside you forever, remember it, fuel it, start a revolution. We need it. Never give up. Enough people like us and there will be change.
Be the change that you want to see in the world.

Hey Freedom Yeah, 'Welcome' altough I see you've been into this for a while I really liked your post ^_^ I love to see one of these threads once in a while, when someone just says all these things, these great things, most of us here have written our first post like this, me too ^_^ Anyway, I hope you get your Phd, I have to choose if to start university next year in autumn, and if I do, I've been intyerested in nature more after Avatar, I mean, I always have been, and I love doin adventures and sport, but Avatar was a boost, and if i ever will go to Uni, i'll probably do a nature wise course like wildlife, or conservation, then ill really know my stuff, and can be more like a Na'vi, which like it or not, is what i've wanted to be in the last 18 months, even though all i can think about lately is girls, money, girls, money, girls, money lol... I wish I could fly on Toruks back with Ney on my side, and stop suffering for this hoe... Anyway, never mind my rant xD Great post, maybe one day we'll work together on something mate, I see you
