So I was thinking..and it might have already been talked about but...hey. WHat would happen....if a na'vi were to unbraid his/her braid? would the white tendrils just be let loose? Or do you think they would die from shock or something?

The tendrils are just the tip of the queue. Most of it is like a long tube like the other creatures have, and they braid their hair to protect that. If they unbraided it, it would look like the queues of anything else on Pandora. You can see a Na'vi whose braid is loose the first night Jake is with the Omaticaya.

I don't recall what her queue looked like but Neytiri also has unbraided hair after her and Jake mated and she awoke to the bulldozers.

Well I guess they are also born with Unbraided hair and Queue... Anyhow, it might not be a good idea to try but I doubt it would 'die' straight away... Maybe they can re-generate aswell like a lizard's tail?

You only see a small portion of it, but there's a tube like thing on the back of his head just like what you see on the animals.
