Hah! I told you I'll be back. Just to share some thoughts. What you write about us humans being sinners is certainly true, Ma'O. We are. Some of us are aware of it, most are not. And I have to be honest: when it comes to human beings, I have a tendency to think deep black, not pink. That's why, indeed, no one should be better than others.
As a matter of fact, I don't think that people who inspire others are better than the rest. They are just as human & weak & have their imperfections. In some areas though, they are just more experienced and balanced than others, life itself taught & matured them. They don't feel the need to preach, by the way, because they are mostly not aware of others seeing them as an inspiration. They just are who they are. But to some of us, their example can be like a torch in the night, illuminating the path towards personal growth.
To give you an example: some years ago, I met a person who - in my eyes – was a great communicator. He didn't say much, you'd rather see him listening to others carefully, and you'd rather see him asking a question than reeling off his views to everyone, interested or not. But when he DID open his mouth to say something, it was spot-on. Short, crisp, clear. And very conscious. I wanted to communicate like him, I found it great, while other people thought he was a shy guy and wanted him to speak more. That's the good thing about inspiration: was might be an example to me, doesn't necessarily have to be one for others.
Anyway, he'll never know, but he had quite an impact on my way of communicating. Thanks to him, I've grown a bit as a human being. He's not even aware of it, I worked with him only for a short period of time & never talked to him about it, and I'm pretty aware of the fact that he had a lot of less charming traits. He's human after all *lol*.
However, that is what I mean with being an example for others without teaching & preaching. And therefore I still believe that you might very well have inspired someone you've met in your life, without even knowing it. And now, I'd rather hurry before I'll ramble on and on and on...
