Default Has anyone watched Avatar by themselves? How was it like?

All the times I have watched Avatar, it was usually with someone else. I'm afraid that watching Avatar by myself, especially after a few weeks of not having seen it, will leave me feeling in a deep state of sorrow. A few people who HAVE seen it alone tell me that it isn't so bad. You don't have anyone upsetting you with their opinion, bothering you during the film, etc. This is a good point, although the way I think is that, even though a person who I watched Avatar with may not have experienced the movie as I did, what matters to me is that he/she was there sitting beside me and was there with me after the movie was over. Anyway, has anyone here seen it alone? What was the experience like?

I haven't, but having the presence of friends is always the single grip on reality I have during the actual movie.

People usually get really quiet during the viewings I've been through, but the fact that there are other people around remind me where I am.

I would have to imagine that what you presume is true, that you would get more immersed alone.

Perhaps you should try going to the viewing latest at night at your theater, so there arent even other people. Might be interesting.

I was at a school event where we get locked into the movie theatre for the night. During that, you can watch 3 showings of 6 different movies (guess what I did).

Anyways, if you can't guess, I planned to watch Avatar all 3 times. The second showing had my friends elsewhere, so I was alone. I can tell you, it's incredibly peaceful. I mean that literally, but something must be said that it was 2:00 in the morning when the showing started. I was rediculously tired (I actually walked out when the war scene started so I could sneak out of the theatres and go home to sleep). But yeah, I got the full immersion experience, and it was awesome (7th viewing at the time).

Yes, I've watched it by myself as well. It's great. But everyone's different, and I really have no idea how you'd find it.

Almost always on my own. When I leave the theater, it's with no one but me. I can live in whatever world I want after that. With people can be great fun, but I've personally always enjoyed going to the movies alone.

I haven't and probably will never watch it alone because my brother likes it as much as I do. There's nothing wrong with watching it alone though. Every chance you watch Avatar, there's always someone there, experiencing the same awe and wonder that you are, if not more. So technically, you're not alone. I wish I could tell you from actual experience though. It wouldn't really matter to me if I watched it alone though. I'd simply strike up a conversation with one of my neighbors. I did it one time and I learned the person next to me had seen it once already and bam, instant connection. Had I been alone at that time, I wouldn't have been after talking to my neighbor. Though that instance may not always happen the odds are, people in your theater who are watching it now, have seen it at least once already. So rather than feel like you'd succumb to PAD, rejoice in the fact that others in the theater are as excited as you about the movie, or else, why would they still be seeing the movie (it's already been 8 weeks or so).
