Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings are the only other film series that have done anything like this for me. I cannot wait to see the sequel(s) and learn more about Pandora and - hopefully - the rest of the galaxy.
Wow, me too. Are you sure you're not reading my diary?

Sums up my feelings fairly nicely. A bit of a read, but worth it all the same.

When I saw Avatar, I didn't want the movie to end. I still feel that way, now, after two viewings. I'll go back to watch it again not because I'm looking for new detail or new points -- but because I just want to sit there and believe Pandora is real for 3 more hours.
Thats a great article and I couldn't agree more!

It's not just the fantastic visuals for me. It's so much more than that. I mean when I watched Jurassic Park at the cinema I was like, "wow, thats incredible!" The special effects were simply amazing I was astonished and certainly made the movie what it was. But the first viewing was it for me. Once I had seen it, I was done. I enjoyed it immensely, but I had no desire to see it again. But Avatar I've seen it at least a dozen times and I still love every minute of it. A film experiance happens once every 10 years or so for me.
Sky People do not learn. Sky People do not see. No one can make you see.

The closest word I found in the dictionary to 'Tiyerkup' that makes sense in context is Terkup, which means die.

Is that what you meant to type? Because 'die moron!' does make sense. Or does the word you typed have another meaning.

(Even the Na'Vilator translates 'die' into 'terkup')
