Oh God. I can't even imagine how awful that would be. I cannot watch IMAX movies. Whenever I was forced to go to one with school, I'd sit the whole time with my glasses off and try to think about something else.

Well, if the 3D process affects you negatively, I can understand that, but I think the large majority of people would agree that Avatar in IMAX is the closest to virtual reality we can get, at least cheaply

Well as I posted in another thread on this subject, I think releasing it in 2D was somewhat of a disservice for those who hear the hype but only see it in 2D.

Of course Avatar is still Avatar - the story, the characters, the emotions are all the same whether you watch it in 2D or 3D. But it's not quite as captivating in 2D as in 3D, in my opinion.

Of course, I saw it in a crap 2D theater that had some funky projection issues (section of screen was very bright during black scenes), distorted audio (especially noticeable when Tsu'Tey falls from the Valkyrie), and I think the projector was even misaligned (the bottom of the English subtitles for Na'vi text were cut off, as was the bottom of the text from the video logs). So it could be this theater, and not 2D in general.

Saw it first 4 times in 2D. The 3D had a greater visual and emotional impact though.
The glasses don't hurt, the looking up from sitting in the front row hurt. It was worth it
