Default Avatar has triggered the new era of films

After Avatars success everyone is considering 3D now, its no surprise that suddenly everyone wants to make their films in 3D, and there have even been offers for James Cameron to rent his Camera that was used to shoot Avatar

Apparently all these upcoming films (2010) are going to be in 3D (not confirmed with all of them)

The Next James Bond flick, The New Star Trek, Titanic (coming back in 3D),TinTin, Kung Fu Panda 2, Shrek 4, Master Mind, Star Wars (remake), LOTR Trilogy (remake), Alice in Wonderland, Step Up, Cars 2, Hubble 3D, Happy Feet 2 and probably many not mentioned here

Im guessing at the max in about 3 years 2D movies will be rare in the big screens, if not there will be none. I dont know what film caused the change from black and white to color but Avatar will definitely be known for being the CAUSE of the new era of films. The change from 2D to 3D

Well it's cos this Real D 3D stuff is just plain awesome!
People have no idea just how much choice they have in the universe. We will find a way never to wake up

    - "Smart enough to be afraid, stupid enough to do it"
    - "All rivers lead to the ocean, the difference between me and you is this. I'm the guy wondering where the oceans go"
    - "Please, the improbability of the mere existence of you and I is so vast it makes Pandora's existence seem definite. Regardless... Probability can suck it, I'll do what I want."
    - "We need stories as much as they need us... and that's really saying something considering they depend entirely on our imaginations to exist."
    - "No matter where I go in life people are constantly using the phrase "Out there in the real world" in the street, in the office, in the home... you name it. Where is this damned reality and why is it so persistently elusive?"

We live such historic moments.....I hate to imagine telling to children in 30-40 years that we used to see 2D movies.... And that I was around when this change happened....

Don't forget Tron Legacy. It's gonna be a visual spectacle.

3D is cool - if executed properly. No need to beat your audience over the head with it. That's what I really liked about Avatar - it was subtle, yet omnipresent. I still haven't seen it in 2D and will make every effort to do so this week for comparison purposes.

My fear is that other directors yield it like an axe instead of a scalpel, and the result is that everyone decries 3D as an annoying gimmick, and then blames James Cameron and Avatar for unleashing it en masse.

True, but they can't really blame Avatar for something it's not, which is a gimmicky 3-D film. We've got the movie as evidence.

After seeing Avatar in 3d it's going to be hard for me to go see a 2D movie now. 3D is where it's at.
