I think the only thing I've ever had really massively distributed without my permission was this recut trailer I made for "The Three Musketeers" (1993). I don't really mind, since I don't own rights to the movie, but I got a little uneasy about all the movie websites linking to my trailer as the official trailer, when it's not... but then, there is no official trailer for the movie that's easy to find, which is probably why they all used mine. I finally had to put a disclaimer in the description on YouTube explaining how the video was not official.

As far as artwork goes, I don't think I've ever had anything of mine stolen before.

Yeah you never think about it until it happens! I used to always do a little tag on my work, thinking that was enough to protect it until the thief I encountered stole my entire alias! My user name "kaliko", my real name, and even my profile information they would copy onto other art-hosting sites. Needless to say it was hard for other people to tell which of us was the real one, so I had to label my work "Only to be viewed on kaliko-rosa.deviantart.com" - such a pain.

I also used to know people in school that would print out popular artwork and pretend its theirs, when you know you've seen it before. Sad but true.

They should implement this outside of the forum. This someone called James Cameron went out and said he made a movie called Avatar, my idea!

Jokes beside, this is great, everyone should get the credits they deserve for what they have created.

I was wondering about this, I want to sign my work, but it never seems to look good. It's like it detracts from the piece and calls attention to itself.

I had Watermarker 6 yrs ago, works great on my home pages and Websites & Forums..... they make me paying for that monthly, cost me pretty high.

Watermarker.com: watermark software, watermarking, watermark photos; transparent watermarks, and image processing tools.

I noticed that have been changed payments, I think I have to buy that one time and don't have to paying for that again when it's expires. I'll try that again.
