Just back from Pandora and I smuggled these babies back with me







Okay, so I'm just a plant-nerd and wanted to replicate the beautiful bioluminescent plants from Pandora and I don't have access to any genetically modified plants at the moment. This is just a couple of choice faux plants with some high-intensity and long-lasting glow paint strategically applied. The coverage could be better in places (will remedy when I have more paint), but I think it turned out rather well. When fully charged they light-up the corner of the room and they look very beautiful. Unfortunately they do fade quickly, but in a dark room they stay at least visible all night.

You know, I always wanted to have a kind of uniquely decorated house (like a sea-themed bathroom, and I don't just mean cute lotion pumps and shell soaps, I mean like decorating the walls with stuff that looks like seaweed, ceiling with fish, etc) and you sir (and I have about an 85% chance that my assumption that you are male is correct) have been my inspiration :D. Glow in the dark plants! Glow in the dark decor! Yes!!! I also thought if you really just had to have your own Tree of Souls/Voices, you could start with these, lol .

Its easy to take the glow-in-the-dark thing a little too far. Once I got my paints I wanted to paint everything and it took a lot of willpower not to Pandorify all my lamp-shades! Actually the first thing I did was paint the little face dots on my Jake poster

I specifically wanted these plants to appear pretty normal during the daytime (some of the usual glow stuff is pretty tacky). You have to balance the natural-magical look without taking it to the acid-trip level.

I like those glow ropes...I actually thought they used those the first time I saw the movie, but then remembered it was all 3D! The only draw-back is that you have to plug them in...kind of ruins the magic. "Wait! I have to plug-in the Utral Aymokriyä!"

OOH! OOH! SOMEBODY SHOULD MAKE A COMPLETLEY NEON LIGHT UP TREE OF SOULS REPLICA!
Even if you had to plug in in, it would still be epic because in the dark you wouldn't see the plug.
