I recently wrote a tribute song for Avatar and made an accompanying video. In it, I'm playing the suling degung, a flute from the island of Java. I hope you enjoy it!
love it. the flute captures the atmsphere of being in a forest perfectly. you used pro tools or something similar for the other instruments? and are you following some sort of scale when playing the flute? very nice composition![]()
There are many dangers on Pandora, and one of the subtlest is that you may come to love it too much.
Thank you, and thanks for listening. I recorded some Tibetan tingshas for the bell sound, and then used some loops on a music mixing program to create the layers of synth drones and to layer clips of forest sounds. The Na'vi singing, of course, is from the Avatar soundtrack.
Edit: I missed your other question. Yes, I'm following a scale that's used in West Javanese music.
