Yes, you're right.
It's a bit to grey. I'm always afraid to manipulate the skin to crude so that it looks unnatural.
But I will follow this point by the next picture =)

And my Na'vi-nose is askew, I guess

the nose isn't the best ever. but I didn't noticed it until you say it. so it isn't bad at all

mm I tried for ages on photoshop but its too goddam hard for me.. I'm colourblind, so the skin tone was impossible haha, but also, the more you manipulate with filters, brushes etc. the skin tends to look like it was painted, without any texture. :(
Also with the nose, did you use liquify? i find it better than just enlarging the nose, harder to do but better results.
Ears are awesome.
Overall nice work! I know how hard it is, so you got my respect for doing this well!

That skin looks like it was painted was with intent At least the first picture. I tried to test this poster-effect and in my opinion, it becomes good to my sister :D
Yes, I use liquify. Perhaps I was to canny with this function, 'cause I'm always afraid, that it looks blurred afterward. I will try to make this better!

The next two pictures don't deal with Avatar but with Inception and Shutter Island. I want to adjust the pictures of the movies ^^

"Shutter Island" (and accordingly Isola del Giglio in Italy. I was there because of a graduation trip)
