Recall the new Pirates film, how the trailer starts with Sparrow giving a message to the fans and his views of the next movie.

Now imagine in Avatar 2, Neytiri does the same for Avatar fans. What do you think she'd say?

She'd say something more that would make the fans go nuts for more. No not what you think, but more to the point thanking the fans for their support and love for her people. "Now, I invited you all back to my home."

I'd also like to see Neytiri narrate parts of the sequel, like Jake did in the first movie. Now it's from her view.

But wouldn't such a thing break immersion? I mean, PotC is one thing. They are a comedy, sort of, so they can do it.

Having her, or anyone else, break the fourth wall would make it a bit personal sure, but I think its best if they didn't do it. It takes away some of the mysterious and alien feel.

I doubt that they will do it due to the cost of doing the motion capture, etc for doing it. If they were to do it, I would hope that they would take the opportunity to finish all the deleted scenes, so that they could be spliced in to their relevent places in the film for a final ultimate collectors edition. If they were to do that (finish all the remaining deleted scenes), would they have to split the film over two bluray discs? I know that the new extended bluray edition of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy has each film split over 2 discs as they physically can't fit each film onto a single disc when the films are in full HD quality.

I really don't feel that breaking the fourth wall should show itself in the Avatar series. You never saw that in Star Wars, did you?

I could never imagine them breaking the fourth wall with Avatar. You can get away with doing something like that with Pirates because it’s just a fun movie made to entertain you. Avatar is much more than just a movie; it’s actually the first film to take you to a new world and allow you to escape reality. James Cameron is no fool and he knows if you take the magic of Avatar away you destroy the integrity of the entire franchise. We must remember that Avatar is his baby and he absolutely will not do anything to destroy something he’s dreamed about since he was a child. We already feel sad enough when the movie is over… the credits bridge the gap back to reality so suddenly that it’s almost cruel. To take that any farther and it would be like rubbing salt in a rather deep wound I’d say.

Neytiri looking directly at the camera and speaking directly to us would be a complete disaster.
