I'm going thru Starman: Truth Behind the Legend of Yuri Gagarin by Piers Bizony and Jamie Doran. It's quite detailed and informative research on Gagarin's life before he became 'the first man in space', during his fame/after and finally his death. Plenty of new stuff revealed, some rather controversial; very interesting read.

Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher books, about Geralt of Rivia - Its more or less a fantasy world where magic exists. And the main char Geralt of Rivia is a monsterkiller for hire - he follows the way of neutrality and gets without wanting involved in lot of trouble with politic and magic - based on the books is the PC Game The Witcher.

Its fun to read, the main character is a true badass :D

Ah, I never read that but I saw TV series based on it (it's Polish, like the book); the quality itself sucked enormously and was bashed by most fans. So if you have a chance to see it - don't bother. I also played the game a little; that was fun

The Survival Guide, I want to go to Boarders and find a new book.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

"Wall-mounted keyboards? It must be THE FUTURE!"
    - Crow, MST3K "Space Mutiny"

"They set out from Plymouth and landed IN Plymouth! How lucky is that?!"
~ Eddie Izzard "The First Thanksgiving"

"There are many dangers on Pandora, and one the most stubtlest is that you may come to love it too much."
    - Dr. Grace Augustine, "Avatar"

I just finished Stephen king's Under the Dome
We've been traveling from state to state
And them don't understand what they say
3,000 years with no place to be
And they want me to give up my milk and honey
Don't you see, it's not about the land or the sea
Not the country but the dwelling of his majesty

Rebuild the temple and the crown of glory
    Years gone by, about sixty
Burn in the oven in this century
And the gas tried to choke, but it couldn't choke me

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. Would DEFINITELY recommend if you have an interest in computers, cryptography, etc, although good technical knowledge will really help in understanding it.
