Default Things You would like answered in AVATAR II

    Hey guys

I didn't actually see AVATAR in the cinema (i'm not even sure why ), but I had in mind to buy the movie on disc. And so I did, and to keep it totally Na'vi way I bought it in Blu(e) Ray (Yeah, yeah that was a lame joke, hehe)

I have now seen it 3 times (bought it two days ago) and I am insanely impressed and amazed by the work of James Cameron and the crew behind AVATAR!!

But now, I'm left back with tons of questions i would like answered, but sadly I have no direct line to JC :/ So I chose the second best thing, The Internet

    1. Since Jake is no longer a human or an Avatar, but a real Na'vi humanoid - Will he be given another name in the sequel? Like a real Na'vi name (in my opinion, he should be named something like The-five-fingered or similar, and of course in the Na'vi language - if thats even possible?)

    2. Will Jake be the next Olo'eyktan (my guess is yes, but who knows if the Omaticaya would accept him as the clan leader?)

    3. Will the humans who where chosen to stay on Pandora have their own avatar? (fx Norm and Max) - This also give several more questions: How long time does it take to create an avatar, and if it takes long time, how far in the future will AVATAR II take place in?

    4. Will the essence of Eywa, magically grow a new Hometree or will the Omaticaya people live somewhere else? And where?

And please post some of your questions or possible answers This might give me and others a whole new perspective of this great movie.

    /Chris

Ps. Sorry if my English is like Jakes horse riding skills (English is not my spoken language)
and yes, I got plenty of more bad jokes :P

I don't know if this question has already been asked else where but I was wondering about the Na'vi only being able to mate once in their life, can they only physically mate once or do they choose to mate once?

This isn't a question but I really hope that the second film goes deeper into the Na'vi culture.

im pretty sure they can "do it" as much as they want. As neytiri says in the movie "We are mated for life, Jake" which to me means that they are to be with that one person their remainder of life.

    1. im not sure the answer but would be cool

    2. I would guess that he would be the next leader considering he is mated with neytiri who was supposed to be the next tsahik(sp?) Also im guessing because they lead him into battle that they should surely follow him as a clan leader. plus he is now purely a Na'Vi and not both human and Na'Vi

    3. Most people believe that they have the technology to do so but that is just open for JC to decide. Also it takes 5 1/2 years to grow a avatar (says so in the movie)

    4. Not sure but my guess would be that they just move to another area. that tree was rather large and had to have been around since the beginning of time.

    1. I rather doubt it. His birth name is Jake Sully, he's known to the Na'vi as Jakesully and that is what he'll go by. I don't see there is a reason for him to get a whole new name that he'd have to learn and everyone else would have to start referring to him as.

    2. Yes, he's wearing the Olo'eyktan's badge/symbol around his neck in the final scene at Hell's Gate, when they're watching the last humans depart on the shuttle. There is a deleted scene (that almost made it into the film and will almost certainly be on the "Deleted Scenes" section of the full DVD when it is released in November) showing him and Neytiri finding Tsu'tey in the woods after he's fallen from the shuttle. Tsu'tey asks Jake to kill him (his queue got cut off by Wainfleet when Wainfleet and the other RDA guys found Tsu'tey in the woods) to end his misery and tells Jake that he (Tsu'tey) wants Jake to be the next clan chief. Jake doesn't want to do either, but Tsu'tey insists.

    3. The avatar drivers who still have avatars and who stayed behind will obviously still have their avatars with them and will still use them, presumably. Norm's avatar was injured in the final battle and probably died from blood loss after the battle, we're not sure until the sequel(s) for this question to be answered in full. It takes a while to "grow" an avatar, which is why they mature on the flight out to Pandora, because their drivers are in cryo-sleep for that time.

    4. The Omaticaya will find a new Hometree. If you remember the scene early in the film when they're flying out to the first science mission, where Jake gets separated from the group and eventually meets up with Neytiri, you will remember that they fly by several other large trees, so there will probably not be much of a difficulty for Jake and Neytiri and the clan to find a new home.
Here's my Avatar fan fiction. Give it a read, if you're so inclined.

    Thanks mates, for answering

Though I am not really sure about the moving away from Hometree, since it was a very special and unique place for the Na'vi people, but i can see the dilemma.

@ yorkshirebudding123: My guess would be yes, that it is possible to do it more than once, but how do they actually do it? I get the whole "tsaheylu" with the ponytails thingy, but are the Na'vi like us? Because to be honest, they ain't got a lot of clothes to cover up their private parts.

Asked in another way: Are they basically structured like humans?

I think the second film is supposed to take place 7 years after the first film.

I am wondering how long after the first film the sequal starts. It's mentioned that it will be several years, but several years could amount from anywhere from seven to ten.

I'm going to say that I hope we get to learn more about the Na'vi and the world of Pandora as well as the other moons of Polyphemus.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

"Wall-mounted keyboards? It must be THE FUTURE!"
    - Crow, MST3K "Space Mutiny"

"They set out from Plymouth and landed IN Plymouth! How lucky is that?!"
~ Eddie Izzard "The First Thanksgiving"

"There are many dangers on Pandora, and one the most stubtlest is that you may come to love it too much."
    - Dr. Grace Augustine, "Avatar"

I am pretty sure James Cameron himself said it would be 7 years.
