Here's my idea of how most of the trilogy should go. It's a long post sorry.

    Sequel 1: EYWA.

This movie shoud deal very closely with the aftermath of the clash between humans and the Na'vi, but keeping human involvment in the movie at a minimum. Just like the Cold War between the US and USSR, two clans, the Omaticaya and another clan grow dominant. These two clans are not trying to be superior to one another nor do they hate each other in any way, but there is a disagreement. This clan, lets say they are the Na'ring ("forest clan"), it doesn't have to be this name I just picked it out of the guide book. The Na'ring feel they cant trust the Omaticaya as Jakesully was once a human. Tensions between the clans heighten. Several clans back the Omaticaya like the Ikran clan of the Eastern sea and the Direhorse clan of the plains. Since the Ikran and the horse clan fought with the Omaticaya and know that Jake helped in fighting the humans, they know that Jake deserves to be Olo'eyktan.

Im not certain of what the Na'ring's true motives can be but maybe they want to live at the Tree of Souls so they can be close to Eywa. (Their motives are up for discussion)

During this time Eywa has been weakened enough so that she can't bring peace between the clans.

So...Civil War! A few hundred clans battle it out on the plains of Pandora, well away from the forestation so they wont do damage to any of Eywa's plant and wildlife. There is a certain honour that all the clans respect in war. Unarmed Na'i are spared and civillains are treated kindly.

After the dust settles both the Omaticaya and the Na'ring settle their differences as now Jake has proved he will fight to protect his clan and is a true warrior.

This movie's ending will almost seem that the trilogy ends here, Eywa has recovered and peace has been restored. No, very suddenly, gunships break through the clouds, with transport shuttles like the Valkyrie trail closely behind. Either Neytiri or Jake or another key character (maybe the red-painted Ikran leader) gets abducted. The Na'vi are forced back and retreat into the forests. Jake/Neytiri soon find themselves in a lot more trouble.

    To be continued...

Overall this movie is generally darker than the first. This is to set a sharp contrast with the third movie, which will generally be a lot happier in mood and atmosphere.

    Final movie: PANDORA.

Again, very soon after the civil war. Many clans of the Na'vi have been weakened severely. Perfect time to strike right? That's right the humans return with a vengeance ready to take Pandora once and for all. Jake's/Neytiri's prime motivation is to free the abducted character that was taken in the sequel. This happens very early in the movie and there isn't a lot of time where the main characters are split up. The abductee is freed early on in the movie.

The humans chose a different location to set up base. The next largest unobtanium deposit is in the oceans, close the Ikran clan. This movie will show a lot of Pandora's oceans and sea creatures (many of which are unseen).

Im going to leave how the movie ends up for discussion as I don't have much solid ideas at the mo

The Na'vi fight humanity again and Jake gets his braids cut off so he can't bond with anyone/anything until it grows back.

I really hope they stay on Pandora. And I would like to see more of Pandora, such as the depths of their oceans, and places under ground or something.

to the original poster: 8-9 months ummm..... you realy need to think about that, pandora is 4 LIGHT YEARS AWAY that means for years trveling at the speed of light.
one: the speed of light is impassible nothing can go faster
two:it is theoreticly impossible to acheive lightspeed
three: the 6 years it takes to get to pandora means they trveled at roughly 7/10 the speed of light which is almost impossible as well.

    message: think before you post

The Omaticaya seem pretty self-contained. I wondered during the movie if any trading takes place amongst the various tribes.

With the destruction of Hometree, there is no doubt that the Omaticaya were the hardest hit buy the battle. I wonder if neighboring tribes will help them out, in finding another Hometree or giving them supplies and treating the wounded. I'd love to see more interaction with the different tribes in Pandora.

As a rule (of sorts) the first sequal to any given trilogy is dark in tone, it's the middle act: everything is collasping and the bad guys are winning. I'm actually wondering if we get to see the world beneath the oceans, and taking a cue from another Cameron movie, The Abyss, maybe there's another alien race under the ocean (perhaps from another moon of Polyphemus?) but with a twist: unlike the peaceful aliens from The Abyss (although they were ready to take out humanity with a tsunami because we were messing up), these aliens are more hostile and ready to attack whenever they are ready.
They tried to take over Pandora before in the past but were defeated by the last Toruk Makto pretty badly. They have just been "reawaken" with enough firepower to take out the Na'vi, with the same intent that the humans had, technically, unobtainium. As a sea-dwelling people, these ocean aliens would have some more marine looking creatures.

Sorry for the long paragraph, just some ideas I had floating around in my head.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

"Wall-mounted keyboards? It must be THE FUTURE!"
    - Crow, MST3K "Space Mutiny"

"They set out from Plymouth and landed IN Plymouth! How lucky is that?!"
~ Eddie Izzard "The First Thanksgiving"

"There are many dangers on Pandora, and one the most stubtlest is that you may come to love it too much."
    - Dr. Grace Augustine, "Avatar"

Just one thing: TRUDY CHACON IS COMING BACK I DON'T CARE THEY HAVE TO BRING HER BACK!!!
ok, ok perahps i was too much in a hurry i have some ideas not a full story.
Jake and Neytiri are living fine until one day the guardians shout that there is something coming out of the forest when they come close, they notice that it's Trudy. They ask her how she survived and she says that she jumped out of the helicopter in fire without mask but as she had four seconds she managed to put it on. They deside that Grace should be brought back too so they prepare a Spaceship that Trudy can drive that takes them to the planet where they have to fight a war to bring Grace back

It's just some ideas based on what Cameron said he had in mind. I Hope it's really like that

    [QUOTE=Eyktan Na'vi;338]
It will take about 6 years for the humans to get back to earth. During that time, Jake and Neytiri have established a family and helped make a new home for the Omaticaya people. Although Jake is highly respected, he is not he leader. The brother of Tsu tey is the leader and the best of friends with Jake.

Well the flaw in that is in a deleted scene... Tsu'tey didnt die from the gunshots or the fall , Jake found him he asked Turak Makto to be his last shadow so jake kills him but not before Tsu'tey gives Jake leadership.
