    Question Pre-Human Times of Great Sorrows (TOGR)

    Hey there, guys. Idk if there's already a thread like this, but here goes. The Humans caused the latest Time of Great Sorrows, which means that something happened before humanity arrived. Something with enough gravity to effect several clans or continents. I'm curious as to what caused these.

    I believe there were civil wars. Toruk Macto is a warrior, so why else would they need one? Perhaps there was another race or monsters.

    I think it's the biggest plot-hole-possibility-thingy; previous Times of Great Sorrows. So it must be important. What do you guys think caused all the previous TOGS's?

    TOGS= Time of Great Sorrows

    Pandora is great. But I live somewhere better. A place created with words, not computers. I believe in a real God, and see a blue and green world everyday- not a grey one. I like to think the best of me, and realize the glass is half-full. I have a life, a name, not a pen-name.

    Well, they always had Toruk Macto to save the day- he's a warrior, which is why I think it was probably civil wars. Perhaps that's why they know about each other; either they traded with them or some conflict caused larger factions to break into smaller clans.

    I thought about it many times
    I think you're right and the "Times Of Great Sorrows" was a war

    I check on Pandorapedia and is mention there that's there were Na'vi VS Na'vi wars in the past

    Well, I hope they emphasize on old rivalries in the sequel. I would like to see more of what went on in the past.

    I bet Eywa has a split personality. She's a repository of Na'vi souls after all, and no Na'vi is 100% "good." Those "times of great sorrow" may well have been the times when her long-suppressed collection of badness reached a boiling point and some poor Na'vi, mated to the wrong tree, got a shot of pure evil in the head and became evil incarnate! Just imagine what a 100% bad Na'vi--carbon fiber bones and all--could do! <shudder>

    hmm ok... if here was tribe wars to famine, what create this? If Na'vi age is calculated same, or very very similiary as humans, Time of great sorow was cca 35-50 years ago...
    Masive vulcanic activity? or what in your opinion?
    (Sorry for my horrible english)
